As a gamer with a heart for Marvel comics and movies, I can’t help but feel like a kid in a candy store when it comes to the latest news about Daredevil’s return. Charlie Cox‘s portrayal of Matt Murdock has been a highlight of my comic book-loving life, and his brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home was like a dream come true.

Now, I feel that sense of significance just as much personally.
It’s not an error to say that. Matt Murdock’s brief cameo as Peter’s lawyer in No Way Home, released in 2021, was a thrilling moment for moviegoers. Although he didn’t put on the Daredevil costume, it was the long-anticipated meeting of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters who were all New York City residents. Since numerous superheroes are based in New York City, fans like me have been eagerly waiting to witness the encounter between Spider-Man and the Man Without Fear for quite some time.
Though Peter Parker and Matt Murdock shared their screen time as adversaries, never have Spider-Man and Daredevil crossed paths in a superheroic collaboration. Later, during a panel discussion, Charlie Cox expressed his excitement about the possibility of these two heroes teaming up in an upcoming Marvel production. In his own words:
Essentially, the collaboration between Spider-Man and Daredevil carries such a powerful symbolism; their union is truly iconic. I’m eagerly anticipating potential future projects where they can team up, as it promises to be an exciting experience. Primarily, I hope for chances to explore this dynamic duo further since it holds immense potential for fun and engaging stories.
The argument has been presented. Given that these two New York City heroes have crossed paths numerous times in comics and various animated series, it’s high time they join forces in live-action. Fingers crossed that Cox’s wish comes true, and this collaboration happens swiftly rather than tardily… the excitement among fans would be palpable. After all, we’ve been questioning where cinematic superheroes were during Netflix’s Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, including the Defenders miniseries. So, let’s bring Spider-Man and Daredevil together on screen now!
Indeed, there are many questions swirling about this potential superhero collaboration. One major point of discussion revolves around the conclusion of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange cast a spell erasing everyone’s memory of Peter Parker. Consequently, if Matt Murdock and Peter ever meet again, Matt wouldn’t recall their past interactions.
It could be quite fitting for characters to gather in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) during Avengers: Endgame, as fans are excited about which superheroes will join forces. However, if Charlie Cox’s character remains limited to the small screen and doesn’t appear in the upcoming Avengers films, it might prolong the wait for a Daredevil and Spiderman team-up. We can only speculate on what Kevin Feige has planned.
