As a seasoned animation enthusiast with a penchant for storytelling that transcends the ordinary, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming animated feature, “The Ark and the Aardvark.” The fact that it’s being brought to life by none other than John Stevenson, who co-directed the iconic “Kung Fu Panda,” has me eagerly awaiting its release.
As a dedicated admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I, along with Unified Pictures, have joined forces with ReDefine Animation for “The Ark and the Aardvark,” an exciting new animated venture. This project is none other than the latest masterpiece from the talented John Stevenson, who co-directed the beloved “Kung Fu Panda” series.
Redefine Animation, a division of the London-based visual effects company known as DNEG Group, played a significant role in projects like last year’s Nimona, which garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, and The Garfield Movie. Recently, DNEG secured $200 million in funding from the United Al Saqer Group, a venture capital firm based in Abu Dhabi. This investment will be used for developing intellectual properties, establishing a new production studio in Abu Dhabi, and creating a new branch focused on artificial intelligence technology.
The specified feature has been launched and Redefine, recognized for its artistic talent, expertise, and vast capabilities, has been selected to serve as the completion studio, collaborating with Unified’s animation team based in Los Angeles.
The movie “Aardvark” re-tells the well-known tale of Noah’s Ark, focusing on the animals’ experiences and follows an ostracized aardvark, portrayed by Miles Teller, who teams up with a band of unlikely allies to overcome various calamities in their quest to find the grand ark before the impending deluge.
Additionally, Aubrey Plaza, Jenny Slate, Craig Robinson, Rob Riggle, and Stephen Merchant are among the talented voices lending their talents to this production as well.
“Partnering up with Redefine Animation, whose impressive track record of artistic mastery, strongly reinforces our conviction that the movie will attract a vast international viewership,” expressed Ben Ruffman, our collaborator and executive producer at Unified.
Currently, DeDe Production is working on the creation of “Angry Birds 3” and “Animal Friends”, a live-action/animation blend featuring Ryan Reynolds.
Recently, Unified’s prison drama “Dragged Across Concrete,” featuring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn, reached the top spot on Netflix’s movie chart. They are currently working on post-production for “Tin Soldier,” starring Jamie Foxx and Robert De Niro, and “The Beast” is in the early stages of production, with Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman set to star.
