As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt and a soft spot for the adventures of the iconic Dr. Jones, I must say that the news of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gracing our screens in December 2024 (and PS5 in Spring 2025) has sent a thrill down my spine. The anticipation has been palpable, with whispers and rumors circulating for months about this highly-anticipated title.
Indy Jones and The Great Circle has definitively announced its release schedule, securing a spot on Xbox and Windows PC in 2024. Previous chatter hinted at potential PS5 availability as well, but now it’s official that the game will also be released for Sony’s main competitor in 2025.

At Gamescom’s Opening Night Live 2024, they didn’t hold back on announcements, and to wrap up the event, it was confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9, available on Xbox, Game Pass, and PC. Moreover, as rumored, it’s also planned for a Spring 2025 release on PS5.
Originating from the studio renowned for creating the Wolfenstein series, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is anticipated to deliver another thrilling journey around the world. Given that Microsoft now controls the Bethesda empire, some assumed this title would be primarily available on Xbox platforms.
Under the Project Latitude collaboration, Microsoft is considering making some of its video games accessible on Sony platforms. It seems that the Xbox team might not be too eager to relinquish popular exclusives such as God of War and The Last of Us. However, there’s some curiosity regarding which (if any) exclusive titles will remain with the Xbox platform.
Console exclusivity isn’t anything new, but with just a few months where Xbox owners are taking priority, it’s sure to be a divisive move. Then again, with Indy coming to Game Pass, you can bet everyone is going to be tipping their fedoras upon release.
As a fervent admirer, the news that Doctor Jones is heading to PlayStation isn’t entirely unexpected, given the hints dropped earlier and the ‘leak’ of a PS5 port during Gamescom that had us doubting at first. However, with Geoff Keighley confirming it, I can’t help but feel elated knowing we’ll embark on Indy’s newest adventure in 2025!
