As Black Ops 6 approaches, fans can’t wait to discover how Treyarch will differentiate its multiplayer experience in this installment compared to earlier Call of Duty games, beyond just the movement mechanics.

It has been observed that certain maps incorporate secret doors reminiscent of Scooby-Doo, adding an element of surprise to the typical 6v6 gameplay modes. Additionally, it appears that other maps are capable of accommodating larger groups, up to 8 players in a lobby.

However, what’s the status on bigger game modes like Ground War, Invasion, or even Fireteam? It appears that Fireteam, having departed after the Cold War era, could potentially return.

The original post mentions that the Sony PS Store indicates the game supports up to 40 players in multiplayer, a fact the Redditor is hopeful is accurate. However, it’s important to note that there might be a slight twist – even though the Redditor picked the Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen bundle, the PlayStation store could possibly be referring to the whole Call of Duty HQ app instead.

In Modern Warfare 3, the game is equipped to accommodate teams of up to 40 players in both Ground War and Invasion modes, even though these specific game modes have seemingly been abandoned.

Instead of appearing in Black Ops 6, the Zombies mode Outbreak has been confirmed by Treyarch to be focusing on a full year of round-based content. However, according to leaks, it’s expected to debut in a year for the 2025 game, rumored to share similarities with MW2 and MW3 but set within the Black Ops universe.

Since Fireteam was featured on Outbreak maps during Cold War, there’s a strong possibility that it will make a return in its full form. However, it could also appear in Black Ops 6 right away as an option instead of Ground War.
