Based on information from reliable sources involved in the production process, it appears that actress Rani Mukerji will begin filming for the next installment of the “Mardaani” series as early as the first quarter of 2025. A source close to the development shared, “For Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra, ‘Mardaani’ is a cherished franchise. They have been refining a script with their internal team of writers for some time now, and they recently approved an idea that honors the legacy of parts one and two. The writing team is currently polishing the screenplay before the project transitions into pre-production.”
As in the previous films, it’s expected that a significant aspect of this new film will be the portrayal of antagonism, enhancing the impact and strength of both the narrative and the protagonist, played by Tahir Raj Bhasin in Mardaani or Vishal Jethwa in Mardaan 2. Notably, the franchise is recognized for its formidable villains. In the upcoming installment, the producers will be introducing a strong character to face off against Rani Mukerji.
Rani is eager to slip back into the action role once more. The character of Shivani Shivaji Roy appeals to her because it’s powerful and empowering.
