Playmobil Toys Reach New Heights for 50th Anniversary Artist Project

As a passionate art enthusiast with a soft spot for toys that sparked my childhood imagination, I am utterly thrilled by Playmobil’s 50th Anniversary Artist Project. The fusion of creativity and philanthropy is a testament to the transformative power of art, a concept close to my heart.

To celebrate Playmobil’s 50th Anniversary Artist Project, ten artists have joined forces for a special cause, supporting Save the Children, the world’s foremost independent children’s rights organization. In preparation for the event, these artists have taken plain 1.5-meter tall Playmobil figures and turned them into distinctive pieces of artistic creativity. These ten masterpieces will be revealed at Berlin’s Beinghunted Gallery on August 30th, with online auctions following shortly thereafter.

100% of the earnings will be donated to Save the Children Germany e.V., a renowned international charity dedicated to championing the rights and safeguarding the well-being of children worldwide. In recognition of their 50th anniversary, Playmobil highlights the impactful role that toys can play beyond merely serving as sentimental keepsakes, by acting as potent art forms capable of enhancing the lives of underprivileged children globally.

Organized by Hikmet Sugoer, the event attracts both domestic and foreign attendees, including Bünyamin Aydin, creator of Les Benjamins; Ferdi Porsche, founder of F.A.T. International; toy collector Selim Varol; Boris Tellegen, more famously known as DELTA. Additionally, works by German youth organizations such as SkF and the PATTA Academy are showcased. After a two-week display at Beinghunted, all artworks will be offered for auction on eBay.
