Melissa Gorga is uncertain about her role on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” following the intense season 14 finale and the after-show broadcast.
During an episode of the podcast “Two Ts in a Pod” hosted by Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge, Gorga was questioned by Judge about how she would handle a hypothetical scenario where she wasn’t asked back for the next season, but her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice was.
“Are you prepared for that, are you concerned?” wondered Judge.
“Gorga replied, ‘Given all the stories circulating, I’m ready for anything now.'”
She expressed that if Bravo chooses Giudice over her, which she considers a less favorable decision, then she wouldn’t want to be part of a show where such a choice is made. Gorga clarified that while she wishes to stay on the show, she has no interest in being involved with something so negative or toxic.
“Gorga mentioned, ‘As long as Teresa is around, I wouldn’t find it as fun.’ When Mellencamp asked if her feelings would change if Luis Ruelas was no longer there, Gorga replied, ‘I wouldn’t see it as a loss.’ She also noted that she’s been on the Bravo series for 14 years and ‘you can’t keep doing it forever; you don’t spend 50 or 20 years on a TV show.'”
Gorga expressed her desire to continue being part of the show and expressed hope for some exciting changes in the future. However, she acknowledged the possibility that she might not be included anymore. If that’s the case, she added, she wouldn’t want to participate in the show anyway, as stated by the Real Housewives of New Jersey star.
In the final episode of season 14, the long-standing conflict between Giudice and Gorga escalated dramatically as Giudice repeatedly referred to her sister-in-law as a “prostitute.” This hostile behavior echoed Giudice’s notorious altercation with Bravo veteran Danielle Staub in season one. Instead of hosting a typical reunion special, the women chose to revisit the location of the finale and were split into two factions based on their allegiances towards Guidice and Gorga. In a unique twist, they collectively watched back the finale in a special broadcast on August 11th.
During the final episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen expressed that the finale felt rather conclusive, but he later mentioned on his SiriusXM radio program that a cast reshuffle for season 15 hasn’t been determined yet. However, he did assure listeners that changes will be made to revitalize the show in some form.
