Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan's producers REACT as claims of unfulfilled promises made by them to Syed Abdul Rahim’s family surface

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for cinema, I have always advocated for ethical practices within the film industry. The recent controversy surrounding the alleged unfulfilled promises made to the family of Syed Abdul Rahim by the makers of Maidaan is indeed a matter of concern.

Previously this year, Ajay Devgn featured in the biographical drama titled “Maidaan,” portraying the character of footballer Syed Abdul Rahim. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the film received generally favorable reviews from critics but had a moderate reception at the box office. Recently, rumors have emerged suggesting that the creators of “Maidaan” failed to uphold their commitments made to Syed’s family.

According to a report in Hindu, it’s stated that the government of Telangana may take strong action against the producers of Maidaan for not paying royalties to the family of Syed Abdul Rahim. Sources indicate that members of Mr. Rahim’s family have expressed their concerns about this issue to officials within the Chief Minister’s Office, which has left Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy surprised and dismayed by the filmmakers’ lack of sensitivity. He has subsequently ordered an investigation into the matter.

Following these reports gaining traction, Ameet Naik, legal representative for Bayview Projects LLP and partner at Anand and Naik, released an official denial addressing all the allegations. To clarify, Bayview Projects LLP is a company owned by Boney Kapoor, who was also involved in the production of Maidaan alongside Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios.

According to a public statement, Ameet announced that Bayview has been following the rules set out in the agreement dated January 29, 2020, which was submitted to the Hyderabad and Secunderabad Civil Court. At present, there are no unpaid debts owed to either Mr. Raheem’s or Mr. Hakeem’s heirs, and no legal authorities or police have issued any notices to Bayview. If a claim or notice is received in the future, the production company will respond appropriately within the confines of the law to preserve its rights and reputation.
