Bruce Campbell Mocks Deadpool & Wolverine Stars After Not Getting a Cameo

Bruce Campbell Mocks Deadpool & Wolverine Stars After Not Getting a Cameo

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for all things quirky and nostalgic, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment over the absence of Bruce Campbell in Marvel’s latest multiverse adventure, “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Having grown up watching his iconic performances in films like “Evil Dead” and the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man trilogy, I was eagerly anticipating a hilarious guest appearance from the man himself.

Although Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine boasted some unforgettable cameos, one potential hilarious guest role was missed – the charismatic Bruce Campbell. In 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he made his MCU debut as the snarky Pizza Poppa vendor, but fans were left wanting more when they noticed his absence among the cameos in Marvel’s latest multiverse escapade. Given the assortment of beloved characters that graced Deadpool & Wolverine, it seemed like a given for Bruce Campbell to make an appearance. However, according to ComicBook, Campbell has shed light on the reason behind this.

At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, I was there hyping up my fresh new series, “Hysteria!”. During our discussions, someone inevitably brought up the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman adventure. Unfortunately, my character wasn’t part of that thrilling journey, but it all boiled down to a simple matter – timing. In an exclusive chat with ComicBook, I shared the reason behind my absence from their adventure, stating that it was simply a case of bad timing on my end.

He’s not in that timeline. He’s in a different timeline.

Some fans of Marvel could find fault with Campbell’s interpretation. They might counter that timelines are irrelevant in the multiverse, but a more dominant force is at play: Disney. Many of the cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine were from the pre-MCU period, mostly from Fox’s Marvel films. Given that Pizza Poppa made his debut in the MCU, it seems plausible that Marvel Studios aimed to minimize those cameos, hence the absence of pizza balls in The Void.

Despite not appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) version of Spider-Man, Campbell has previously acted in Sam Raimi’s standalone Spider-Man films. Specifically, he played the ring announcer in the first film from 2002, a snobbish theater usher in the second installment from 2004, and a maĆ®tre d’ in the third movie from 2007. However, these roles don’t seem significant enough to warrant a cameo in the MCU.

Bruce Campbell Has Thoughts About Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman

66-year-old Bruce Campbell, true to his witty style, offers sarcastic remarks towards both Reynolds and Jackman. He playfully criticized their on-screen camaraderie, a dynamic seldom seen in his own films since he rarely collaborates (and his “Evil Dead” Boom Stick is an exception). Moreover, he joked about Reynolds’ off-screen role as co-owner of the English soccer club Wrexham AFC.

Well, here’s what I say to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Get a room. What’s with the bromance? We get it. Thank you. Next. Go back to your soccer team, Ryan.

Despite Bruce Campbell’s absence, the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” has been performing exceptionally well otherwise. It recently surpassed the billion dollar mark at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing MCU film since “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled about Campbell’s latest series, titled “Hysteria!“. This captivating tale unfolds in the turbulent ’80s, during what was known as the “Satanic Panic”. The story revolves around a high school metal band who cleverly ride the wave of the “satanic” trend to boost their popularity. However, things take a dark turn when people mysteriously start dying, and they find themselves under the spotlight of suspicion. In this gripping series, Campbell portrays Police Chief Dandridge, and we can catch it on Peacock from October 18.

Currently, you can catch Deadpool and Wolverine at your local cinema. On the other hand, if you prefer to stream, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available on Disney+.
