As a gamer with over two decades of Sonic under my belt, I can say that the new trailer for “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” has me buzzing faster than a Super Sonic! After two movies with Dr. Robotnik as the main antagonist, it’s refreshing to see a fresh rivalry brewing between Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog. The blend of black and blue moving at high speed is enough to give any old-school gamer a nostalgic kick!
The upcoming trailer for “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” signals that the struggle between good and evil is about to become thorny. Known for his quick wit and speed, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz), whose feet remain a mystery for now (I’ll admit, it feels odd), is back in action in the franchise. In this installment, there’s a chance that Sonic might find himself trailing behind an age-old adversary from “Sonic” mythology – Shadow the Hedgehog (portrayed by Keanu Reeves).
In the concluding scenes of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” it is teased that Shadow will make his appearance in the third movie, offering a new dimension instead of Dr. Robotnik (portrayed by Jim Carrey). However, this does not imply that there won’t be any presence of Dr. Robotnik in the upcoming film.
