Hot Wheels and MSCHF Team Up for "Not Wheels" Car

As a car enthusiast who grew up admiring the unique charm of beat-up cars from the early ’90s Japanese import scene, I must say this collaboration between Mattel Creations’ Hot Wheels and MSCHF has truly captured my heart! The “Not Wheels” vehicle is an ode to those well-worn vehicles that many of us started our automotive journeys with.

As a gaming enthusiast, I recently stumbled upon an unexpected alliance between Mattel Creations’ Hot Wheels and creative powerhouse MSCHF. They’ve rolled out something extraordinary – the “Not Wheels”, a tribute to the battered, time-worn cars that kickstart many of our driving adventures back in the day. This new ride is far from ordinary, evoking the irresistible allure of an early ’90s Japanese import, worn and weathered by the passage of time on the streets.

This unusual car, known as the “Not Wheels,” is distinguished by its three dissimilar wheels – two classic Real Riders tires, a yellow spare wheel, and a rusted hub cap – which make it immobile. The vehicle’s unique charm stems from its dents, rust, DIY repairs, and peculiarities such as a broken windshield, a grubby rear window bearing the message “WASH ME,” and a seat belt hanging carelessly out of the door.

Some playful aspects of the product’s packaging include fine print at the back stating a no-warranty policy and a warning label that reads “unsuitable for those with country club memberships. Prepare for disapproving glances.” Additionally, the packaging bears the “HW Normal Cars” emblem, hinting at the possibility of this being part of a recurring line.

Regarding the MSCHF Not Wheels vehicle, it will be released on August 30th. You can purchase it for $30 USD directly from Mattel Creations’ official website.
