Blue Fox Launches Canadian Arm Ahead of Toronto Film Festival (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for movies, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation at the news of Dave Hudakoc and Ian Goggins joining Blue Fox Entertainment to open a Canadian office. With their extensive experience in the industry, they seem like the dream team that can bring indie films from Canada and beyond to global audiences.

James Huntsman’s independent film distribution and sales company, Blue Fox Entertainment, has brought on Dave Hudakoc and Ian Goggins to establish a new Canadian branch in preparation for the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, starting September 5th.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to step into the role of President and Partner at Blue Fox Entertainment Canada, previously co-founded by levelFILM. Meanwhile, Ian Goggins, who used to be the Executive VP of Global Home Entertainment at Entertainment One, is joining us as an Executive VP. This exciting news comes as we embark on our journey during the launch of the Venice Film Festival.

“Blue Fox Entertainment has long sought to increase our presence in Canada, and we’ve finally found the perfect ally in Dave Hudakoc,” Huntsman, chief of Blue Fox Entertainment, announced on Wednesday. Together with Hudakoc and Goggins, Blue Fox Entertainment based in the U.S. plans to deliver independent films to Canadian and global viewers.

“Given the constant rise in top-tier indie films, it’s never been a more opportune moment to introduce Blue Fox Entertainment Canada into the wider Blue Fox Entertainment network,” said Hudakoc in his statement.

Blue Fox Entertainment Canada plans to concentrate on procuring and disseminating feature films, documentaries, and television shows that leverage the talents and ingenuity of independent Canadian creators and foreign collaborators.

Among Blue Fox’s latest international box office hits are:

The upcoming lineup of releases by the company in the U.S. features the animated film “Kensuke’s Kingdom,” which stars Cillian Murphy, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, and Aaron MacGregor, as well as the young adult drama-comedy “Empire Waist,” featuring Mia Kaplan, Rainn Wilson, Missi Pyle, and Jemima Yevu.
