George Clooney Addresses Impact of His Op-Ed on U.S. Presidential Race: “Biden Gets All the Credit”

As a seasoned gamer with a keen interest in both movies and politics, I find George Clooney‘s words about President Joe Biden truly inspiring. His selfless act of stepping down for Kamala Harris is reminiscent of a strategic move in a game of chess – sacrificing a piece to secure the win.

George Clooney praised President Joe Biden for graciously stepping aside in favor of Kamala Harris during the Democratic primary race, calling it “an exceptionally selfless act akin to what George Washington did.”

In this project, I collaborated with my fellow actor Brad Pitt, under director Jon Watts, in the movie titled “Wolves”. This production made its debut at the Venice Film Festival on a Sunday.

When questioned regarding his article for The New York Times, entitled “I Love Joe Biden, But We Need a New Nominee”, published on July 10th, Clooney seized the moment to extol the virtues of the 81-year-old. “It’s the President who deserves our accolades,” Clooney said at the conference, “for performing the most unselfish act anyone has done since George Washington.”

“He emphasized that what matters most is not the complex maneuvers leading up to it, but rather the brave act of sacrifice. We see this everywhere, and when someone dares to suggest a new path, they deserve recognition for their courage. That’s the essence of the situation.”

As I stood amidst the bustling festival crowd, I couldn’t help but feel the palpable energy between Clooney and Pitt. They were there to debut Watty’s action-comedy, where they embody rival criminal fixers unwittingly tasked with the same job. It was a delightful spectacle to witness their camaraderie unfold at the press conference for Wolf, held before its world premiere. In Italy, they playfully exchanged good-natured jabs, compliments, and filmmaking tips, reminding us all that friendship transcends even the silver screen.

Pitt and Clooney team up in an action-comedy where they play professional trouble-shooters assigned to conceal a high-profile crime. As independent operators, these two are initially at odds, but soon they’re compelled to collaborate. Before long, their night takes an unforeseen turn for the worse, with events unfolding in ways that neither of them could have anticipated.

A few days prior to their arrival in Venice, it was announced that Watts had secured an agreement with Apple to pen and direct a sequel to “Wolfs”. It remains undecided whether Clooney and Pitt have likewise committed to the upcoming installment.

On September 27th, Wolfs is set to premiere on Apple TV+. Prior to this, it had a limited theatrical run starting from September 20th, distributed by Sony.
