Anya Taylor-Joy’s Dream Disney Role Is Elsa From ‘Frozen’: “I Would Love to Do a Musical”

As a long-time fan of Anya Taylor-Joy’s captivating performances and enchanting charm, I must admit that her dream to play Elsa in a live-action adaptation of Frozen has me absolutely ‘Let It Go’ overjoyed! Her dedication and passion for the craft are evident, and I can just imagine the magical moments she would bring to life on screen.

Anya Taylor-Joy holds on tightly to some Disney fantasies, expressing this week her desire to portray Elsa in a reimagining of the movie “Frozen“.

Taylor-Joy expressed to Vogue Hong Kong that it would be incredibly exciting to be able to shoot ice from your hand. Furthermore, she mentioned that you’d surely be the star at every child’s birthday party with this ability. Since many of her siblings have children now, it would make her happy if they could say “my auntie is Elsa,” which she thinks sounds quite cool.

Additionally, the actress mentioned her enthusiasm for a potential musical role, stating, “I’m quite work-obsessed, always seeking challenges. The thought of having to perform singing, dancing, and acting simultaneously is incredibly appealing to me.”

As a child, Taylor-Joy honed her skills as a ballet dancer, an aspect she previously discussed in this interview. This background has significantly contributed to her acting prowess in movies today.

“She mentioned that her years as a ballet dancer from the age of 3 to 15 have greatly influenced various aspects of her life. It’s not just about the self-discipline it requires, but also the fact that it shaped her lifestyle. For instance, even when attending social events, she would wake up at dawn to make it to her early morning dance lessons. She views acting as a rhythmic art form and often hears it like music. This perspective is particularly beneficial for stunt choreography because it allows her to synchronize with every performer on set, not only being aware of her own ‘beats’, but also understanding everyone else’s movements to ensure safety.”

Besides stating that the training improved her skills for executing her own stunts in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”, she expressed her delight at getting to perform numerous stunts, mentioning a particular attention to detail required for such feats. She said, “I really enjoyed having the chance to do as many stunts as I did, because when it comes to stunts, there’s a certain level of precision that is essential.” She added, “You can either get something mostly right or you can nail it perfectly, and this isn’t always common in everyday life. And I found that exciting.”
