Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force to now hit theaters around Republic Day 2025? Here’s what we know

As a die-hard Akshay Kumar fan with years of dedication under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and impatience as we wait for the release of Sky Force. October 2024 seemed like an eternity away, but now that it’s been postponed to Republic Day week in 2025, it feels like an even longer wait!

Fans of Akshay Kumar will need to be patient as the release date for Sky Force has been moved back. Originally slated for a theater debut on October 2, 2024, it’s now scheduled to premiere during Republic Day week in 2025, specifically on January 24, 2025, according to recent updates.

Based on an update from Bollywood Hungama, the creators have fixed the release date for Sky Force. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on January 24, 2025, making it a special Republic Day release. Given that it’s a patriotic film, this timing seems fitting as it allows for an ideal presentation to audiences. A formal announcement regarding this will be made shortly.

Initially, there were plans to show the Sky Force trailer alongside the premiere of Stree 2 (produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films), as both movies are from the same production houses. But, due to a delay in the release of Akshay Kumar’s film, these promotional plans were unfortunately scrapped.

Previously, it was disclosed that in Sky Force, Akshay Kumar will take on the role of an air force officer for the first time, and the movie is designed to show respect to the Indian Air Force. Reportedly, the script has undergone extensive research, with the goal of accurately honoring the IAF with a strong sense of duty. Additionally, it was mentioned that while the action scenes in the film will be thrilling, they will also strive for realism.

Apart from Kumar, Sky Force features Sara Ali Khan, Veer Pahariya, and Nimrat Kaur in the cast. This action-packed aerial thriller set in the past is produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films and Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, and it is jointly directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur.

Kumar has numerous other productions underway at present. At the moment, he’s involved in the production of Jolly LLB 3, where he will share screen time with Arshad Warsi. Moreover, you can catch him in Welcome to the Jungle, Shakara, and Hera Pheri 3 as well. Notably, this seasoned actor is branching out into diverse languages – he’s set to make a special appearance in the Telugu movie Kannappa and will also be part of the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
