Netflix Tackles What Really Happened With ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ Official Trailer

As a seasoned gamer and avid follower of true crime stories, I can’t help but feel a strange sense of anticipation for the upcoming Netflix series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” Having grown up playing games like “Heavy Rain” and “LA Noire,” where the line between virtual reality and real-life crime investigations often blurred, I’ve always been fascinated by the complexities of human nature that these stories reveal.

Netflix prepares to debut Ryan Murphy’s “Monsters” – specifically, “The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story”. This anthology crime series recounts the true events involving the Menendez brothers, who brutally killed their parents in their own home

In this second installment of the show, we delve into events beyond the first season centered around Jeffrey Dahmer. It sheds light on the actual incidents that led to the deaths of Lyle and Erik’s parents, as well as the chain of events that followed, ultimately revealing a tragic sequence of events. Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez portray the notorious brothers, while Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem take on the roles of their parents. During the actual trial, it was argued by the brothers’ defense team that José had been sexually and physically abusing both boys for years, leading them to commit the murder out of fear. Initially tried separately, they were later put on trial together and are currently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole

In the official preview, Koch as Erik confesses to Lyle, “I assumed eliminating them would improve my state, but I’m plagued with these disturbing dreams.” Chavez portrays Lyle responding, “Our existence was defined, and we decided it was no longer acceptable. Starting from this moment, we’re going to strive for a better life — we will never return to our old ways.” You can watch the complete trailer above. The series, titled “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story“, premieres on Netflix on September 19
