Eve Hewson in Early Talks for Untitled Steven Spielberg Event Film

As a seasoned gamer of the silver screen, I must admit that the news of Eve Hewson potentially starring in Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming project has sent a thrill down my cinematic spine! With her impressive resume, including a previous collaboration with the legendary director in “Bridge of Spies,” she seems like the perfect fit for this untitled event film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eve Hewson may potentially take on the lead role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming movie, which currently doesn’t have a title.

Recently, I had the privilege of acting alongside the incredible Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning in Netflix’s limited series, “The Perfect Couple.” Beyond that, I’ve been fortunate to be part of productions like “Bad Sisters,” “Flora and Son,” “The Knick,” “Enough Said,” and “This Must Be The Place.” It’s a dream come true to work with such talented individuals in these remarkable projects.

Back in 2015, I found myself working alongside Steven Spielberg once again on his movie, “Bridge of Spies.” This time, we were joined by Tom Hanks who played an intriguing character – an American lawyer tasked with defending a Soviet spy in court during the chilling era of the Cold War. As the story unfolded, my character helped facilitate a swap: the released spy for the American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers, who had been held captive by the Soviets. Quite an adventure!

Despite not much information being available about the plot of his upcoming project, it’s known that the story is one by Steven Spielberg, with a screenplay by David Koepp who has previously worked on films like Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Kristi Macosko Krieger, who has produced movies such as The Fabelmans and West Side Story, will be responsible for production.

The untitled film, from Universal Pictures, is set to release wide on May 15, 2026.

Upcoming work by Spielberg continues the autobiographical theme seen in his 2022 movie The Fabelmans, which garnered seven Academy Award nominations across categories like Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director.

Hewson is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME), Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Narrative, and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.
