As a long-time fan of reality TV and a self-proclaimed expert in all things 90 Day Fiancé, I must say that this latest episode of The Other Way has left me shaking my head in disbelief. James and Meitalia’s struggle to communicate about their future plans, particularly regarding children, is a classic example of why couples need to talk things out before making life-altering decisions.

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way series progresses, James Solis and his partner Meitalia are spending time in Indonesia. Finally addressing the obvious issue, Meitalia discloses that a friend informed her of James’ doubts about having children. This revelation came as a surprise to Meitalia, and watching their uncomfortable conversation made it clear why Meitalia wanted children so strongly, although this reason might not be the most compelling argument for parenthood.
As Meitalia persisted with James over his evasion of serious matters, she eventually cornered him regarding his ambiguity about having children when he spoke to their friend Adele. He attempted to change the subject, but eventually presented some reasonable arguments. After Meitalia expressed her feelings, it seemed prudent for them to postpone any decisions.
Meitalia Said Having Children Helps Strengthen A Marriage
As a fervent admirer, I found myself feeling a pang of dismay upon learning that James might not be keen on starting a family. Yet, my yearning to nurture a child wasn’t the sole reason for my sentiment. Instead, I shared with him my belief that having children could serve as a powerful bonding agent in a relationship, providing a sense of stability and alleviating any concerns about our union’s future.
It isn’t just me, I suppose, who finds that situation less than ideal for starting a family on “90 Day Fiancé”. After all, bringing up a baby is already an arduous task even for perfectly matched parents, so it becomes even more difficult for couples who are grappling with doubts and difficulties.
If Meitalia is doubting her marriage two years in and seeks more stability within it, having a child might not be the most suitable option initially. Numerous 90 Day Fiancé couples have separated after welcoming children, and though it’s possible, I haven’t witnessed it as an effective means of strengthening a relationship in this series.
James Had Valid Reasons For Holding Off On Children
Ultimately, James disclosed his concerns regarding children, especially their predicament in Indonesia, where they struggle to maintain a livelihood independently, having to depend on family for housing and employment.
It seems that James’ job opportunities are limited in Indonesia, particularly since he doesn’t speak the language. Given this situation, it’s quite clear that they would likely be better off financially if they returned to the United States. Meitalia’s sister suggested as much when she initially informed her about staying in Indonesia. Will the prospect of having children persuade Meitalia to forgo living in her home country and instead choose the United States?
90 Day Fiancé’s Chidi Attempted To Clarify Rayne Issues, But Mentioning ‘Vampires And Cannibals’ Didn’t Exactly Help
This is truly shocking.
I’m uncertain about their commitment to staying in Indonesia since they didn’t sell their car before leaving, and they continued to talk about having car payments. It seems odd to keep a vehicle you won’t use if you plan on residing in Indonesia permanently.
Regardless of where they live, I think it’s fair to say that James has fair reasons for being unsure about having children. I also want to point out that he only expressed uncertainty about having children and didn’t say straight up that he didn’t want children. It’s so wild this whole drama has escalated to this level, and feels like they need to be better at communicating so that these issues don’t frequently crop up.
