McLaughlin has recently been self-employed at Wink Pictures, following a decade-long stint at Focus Features where he served as production president. During this time, his projects included Spike Lee’s Academy Award-winning “BlacKkKlansman”, Kasi Lemmons’ Harriet Tubman feature “Harriet”, Joe Wright’s “The Darkest Hour” (Winston Churchill biopic), Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Phantom Thread”, and collaborated with David Leitch on “Atomic Blonde” starring Charlize Theron, as well as Joel Edgerton on the film “Boy Erased” about a young man undergoing gay conversion therapy.
He previously worked at Chernin Entertainment and The Mark Gordon Company.
