Yudhra’s Siddhant Chaturvedi shares real reason behind leaving Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra; Find out

As a dedicated follower of Siddhant Chaturvedi‘s journey, I find his story to be truly inspiring. His humility and respect for his father’s wisdom are commendable. It’s fascinating to see how he turned down opportunities like Brahmastra when he was just starting out, all because his father believed in him and saw potential beyond the stardom of the cast.

Previously, there were rumors that Siddhant Chaturvedi declined Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra, but the Yudhra actor has a different account. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Siddhant explained that it was actually his father who chose not to be part of the Karan Johar-produced film at a very early stage of development because he feared that Siddhant might get overshadowed by established stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt.

To the People of Bombay, Siddhant openly expressed that he hadn’t abandoned Brahmastra. Instead, he explained, “At that point, I was just starting out, barely known, a struggling artist. How could I refuse Ayan Mukerji, Dharma Productions, and Brahmastra?” Chaturvedi further shared that other actors were already committed to the project when it was still in development, and he too was eager about joining this exciting venture.

Siddhant mentioned that he could have attempted it too, but his father wouldn’t have allowed him. To this day, he encourages me by saying I am superior, he believes in me,” Siddhant reminisced, feeling elated since he had secured a three-film contract with Dharma. At the time, the actor had only appeared in a few ads and considered himself insignificant.

Siddhant shared with me that he told his father about a movie featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan. His father responded by asking, “Then who will pay attention to you?” Siddhant noted that this comment made him ponder as the script for the film was still pending. Reflecting on his father’s words, he remembered his dad saying, “No son, I don’t believe you should take part in it. Have you received the script? Have you auditioned for it? If you aren’t aware of what role you’ll play in that film, don’t gamble with your future.

Previously, a comparable scenario presented itself when Siddhant was approached for the role of Gully Boy alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt who were already set. However, during this occasion, it was two pivotal scenes within the script – his entrance and defeat – that ultimately persuaded his father to approve the project.

Siddhant’s next Yudhra also stars Malavika Mohanan and will arrive in theatres on September 20.
