However, three students from Vantan Game Academy in Osaka have brought the sensation of being as powerful and invincible as Superman to PC and PS5 gamers with their game, Undefeated. This free-to-play project game on Steam is now also accessible for PS5 players.
Undefeated was launched as a heartfelt endeavor by the student development team back in 2019, rapidly gaining fame due to its captivating superhero gameplay. Featuring superspeed, superstrength, and flight, players can traverse the city like Superman while tackling crimes and saving citizens from extraterrestrial perils. This game has been accessible on PC since its debut in 2019, and following its success, the creators established their own studio, Indie-us Games, which later made it possible for the PS5 release.
Independent game developers, Indie-us Games, have recently unveiled plans for a fully-fledged, paid sequel to Undefeated, titled Undefeated: Genesis. This upcoming title is set to launch on PC and PS5 in the next year. The unique nature of Undefeated, resembling Superman in genre, has fueled its growing popularity over the past five years.
Despite numerous colossal gaming studios and publishers consistently launching grand titles, DC comic superheroes such as the Justice League and Superman are yet to receive games that truly do justice to their characters. Recent releases like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have captivated gamers, but DC heroes find themselves in games like Injustice and Kill The Justice League. A game like Undefeated could be a perfect solution to scratch that itch for playing as an invincible superhero, battling formidable foes across an expansive open world.
