Tulsa King’s Jay Will Tells Us About That Massive New Season 2 Character ‘Bigfoot,’ And The Important Role He’ll Have In Future Episodes

As a long-time admirer of Sylvester Stallone’s work and someone who has spent countless hours watching him bring iconic characters to life on the silver screen, I can confidently say that Tulsa King is one of my favorite roles he’s ever played – and that’s saying something! The show’s unique blend of humor, danger, and intrigue has me hooked, and it’s all thanks to the brilliant minds behind it like Taylor Sheridan and Terence Winter.

Currently, one of my favorite shows on TV is Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King, and I’m excited to share that the second season continues in the same vein as its predecessor, maintaining its unique blend of attitude, humor, peril, and mystery. Created by Taylor Sheridan and written by Terence Winter, this vibrant crime drama excels at executing its fish-out-of-water concept, with Sylvester Stallone portraying a New York mafia boss who is banished to Oklahoma, where he starts to carve out quite an impression.

To date, “Tulsa King” has showcased some of Sylvester Stallone’s most remarkable acting performances (and this isn’t an overstatement). The series stands out due to the unique and quirky characters surrounding Stallone’s role as Dwight. Among these intriguing figures, a fresh character introduced in Season 2 named “Bigfoot” adds to the show’s appeal.

I already love the supporting cast in Tulsa King. They are divided up into factions, from the pot-farming Tulsa crew (led by Martin Starr) to the heavy-hitting Mafiosos in New York City. As we saw in the Season 2 premiere, the story picks up right where Season 1 left off, with Dwight in prison because ATF agent Stacy (Andrea Savage) sold him out for what looked like a bribe. He’s not there for long, thanks to his daughter Tina (Tatiana Zappardino) agreeing to post bond. Once back in the bar, Dwight realizes that he needs protection. Mitch (Garrett Hedlund) recommends his cousin, “BIgfoot.”

Prior to the debut of “Tulsa King,” I had a conversation with Jay Will, a recurring cast member whose role expands in Season 2 due to Dwight relying more on Tyson, who is portrayed by Will. When I inquired about “Bigfoot,” he burst into laughter before explaining that he and the actor who plays him, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, collaborate closely as the storyline unfolds. In his words:

He’s huge, man. (But) he’s one of the most loving people that I’ve met in my life. And I don’t even really give compliments like that. But he’s so kind, man. He’s such a cool guy. He was so willing to immerse himself into the world of the story. He got in there. I had a lot of scenes with him, between Bigfoot and Tyson, just in this crossover that Tyson is going through. This rite of passage, into darkness in a way, how it can be perceived. He was there – his character was there, aiding this new evolution (for Tyson).

For a brief instant, let’s take a moment to appreciate the coolness of Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, who plays Bigfoot in Tulsa King. Given his size, it might not surprise you that he’s also a wrestler. He really capitalized on his role in Tulsa King, even sharing this montage on social media.

I’m curious to learn more about this “journey into darkness” that Jay Will is referring to regarding Tyson’s character on the show. When I inquired about what we can anticipate from Tyson as Tulsa King enters its second season, the actor clarified to me:

The role he takes on within his family seems like a natural fit for him, as if he’s stepping into predefined roles with an accepting attitude of ‘Okay, cool.’ He observes the accomplishments of other families and thinks, ‘Alright, I can do it too. I can aspire to reach a similar level or even surpass it.’ The determination, drive, ambition, and youthfulness that Tyson exudes are qualities that I believe propel him forward.

The second season of “Tulsa King” is now in progress, and by the end of the premiere episode, it appears that Sylvester Stallone will face off against both Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo. Don’t forget to keep your Paramount+ subscription current if you want to witness how this thrilling season unfolds further.
