Jamie xx Gets the Gang Back Together on "Waited All Night"

As a longtime fan of The xx, I can hardly contain my excitement as Jamie xx’s “In Waves” release date nears. With each new pre-release single, my anticipation grows, and “Waited All Night” is no exception. The collaboration between Jamie xx, Oliver Sim, and Romy Madley Croft is a reunion I’ve been eagerly waiting for since their last joint effort in 2017.

With the release date of Jamie xx’s album “In Waves” drawing near, the producer is stepping on the accelerator, releasing more pre-release singles. The latest addition to the five previously released tracks is arguably the most exhilarating one titled “Waited All Night.” Notably, this track marks Jamie xx’s reunion with his bandmates Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft from The xx since 2017.

Jamie xx expressed gratitude to his two closest friends and musical partners, Oliver and Romy, affectionately referred to as his siblings. He mentioned that it’s delightful to have the trio reunited, exploring fresh avenues, and creating new experiences, emphasizing their crucial role in his journey. “Waited All Night” is the latest addition to the collection of songs unveiled prior to the album release, which includes “Dafodil,” “All You Children,” “Life,” “Treat Each Other Right,” and “Baddy On The Floor.” This compilation comprises a dozen tracks on the forthcoming LP.

Sim and Croft agree with Jamie, expressing that they’ve cherished working independently on their latest ventures. However, they mention that it has been quite some time since the trio combined efforts for a single track.
