Animal star Triptii Dimri recalls ‘mean things’ relatives told her parents; ‘no one is going to want to marry her’

As an ardent admirer of the captivating Triptii Dimri, I find her journey through the world of cinema nothing short of inspiring. Born and bred in Delhi, she bravely ventured into the chaotic city of dreams – Mumbai, a decision that was met with skepticism from society and even some members of her own family.

Although Triptii Dimri was already well-known for her work in critically acclaimed films such as Bulbbul, Laila Majnu, and Qala, it was her role in Animal that truly brought her into the homes of many. The film by Sandeep Reddy Vanga significantly propelled her career, but what might be less known is that her parents endured harsh comments during her early years.

Lately, during her chat on Katrina Kay Beauty’s YouTube channel, Triptii Dimri shared memories of when she chose her career as an actress. Originally from Uttarakhand, she spent her childhood in Delhi. She reminisced about the challenging choice to move to Mumbai, acknowledging that being an actor meant regularly appearing before a crowd of over 50-60 people daily.

Triptii Dimri reminisced, “I’ve encountered individuals, even within my own family, who spoke harshly to my parents. Statements such as ‘What made you send your daughter into this line of work? She’ll become corrupt; she’ll associate with the wrong crowd, she’ll make poor decisions for herself, no one will want to wed her, she won’t get married now.’ were not uncommon.

Dimri shared that she once felt bewildered and despairing, thinking there’d be no work for her when she awoke. She confessed that returning to her parents with failure wasn’t an option either. Meanwhile, Triptii disclosed how thrilled and proud her parents were following the release of her first film, Laila Majnu.

Following the triumph of the movie “Animal” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Triptii has garnered widespread attention and affection, a fact she acknowledged at a recent event. Originally, my ambition when entering the industry was for people to discuss my work exclusively. Fortunately, as my films were unveiled, they praised my performances. I believe such recognition inspires actors to strive for excellence in their careers and continue honing our skills.

This year, Triptii has three major projects scheduled for release towards the end of the year: “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” featuring Rajkummar Rao, “Bhool Bhulaiyya 3” starring Kartik Aaryan, and “Dhadak 2” with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
