‘Lioness’ Season 2 Trailer With Zoe Saldaña: “Nobody’s Innocent”

As a fan who’s spent countless hours binge-watching gripping espionage thrillers and documentaries about real-life covert operations, I can confidently say that the second season of “Lioness” is shaping up to be an absolute masterpiece. The trailer alone, with its haunting voiceover from Zoe Saldaña and the return of a stellar cast, has me on the edge of my seat.

In the preview for the second series of “Lioness”, Zoe Saldaña is heard saying in a narration, “Wars don’t have morals. It’s about surviving or giving up.

The premiere of Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller on Paramount+, which is making a comeback, is skillfully introduced in the opening scene. The talented cast reassembles for this second season — featuring Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, and executive producers Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman. You can catch them again starting October 27, as the new season launches with a double episode.

In what manner did we arrive at our current state?” Freeman emphasizes this to Kelly, and elsewhere, Kidman cautions that no one should be considered blameless. Meanwhile, Saldaña advises a novice recruit, “Do you have affection for your nation? Your country requires more of your loyalty.

For season two, the storyline revolves around: “As the CIA’s battle against terrorism intensifies in their own backyard, Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Kelly) recruit a fresh member from the Lioness operative group to tackle an unforeseen danger. With time ticking and stress escalating, Joe must face the deep personal sacrifices she has made as the head of the Lioness program.

The following actors complete the ensemble: Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.

The initial season of “Lioness” has been incorporated into Sheridan’s collection on Paramount+, a platform that already houses shows like “Tulsa King”, the prequel to “Yellowstone” titled “1883”, “Mayor of Kingstown”, and “Lawmen: Bass Reeves”. Also joining the lineup are the second season of the “1923” Yellowstone prequel and a new series called “Landman”, featuring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore. The final episodes of “Yellowstone” will premiere on November 10th on Paramount Network.

The series titled “Lioness” is based on a genuine U.S. military program and focuses on the life of Joe (Saldaña), who struggles to reconcile her personal and professional commitments as she works for the CIA while combating terrorism. Previously, Saldaña shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Sheridan holds deep respect for the covert operations that take place when everyone else is asleep, and he aims to shed light on this hidden world.

Back in July 2023, I was part of the massive audience who tuned in for the debut of “Lioness” on Paramount+. On its very first day, it broke records by becoming the most-watched series premiere globally, with almost 6 million viewers checking it out during its inaugural week!

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that apart from the stellar performances of Sheridan, Kidman, and Saldaña, the gripping series Lioness is masterminded by an impressive team of executive producers. This includes David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. Notably, this captivating production is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
