The concept of being suspended in mid-air and then tilted 90 degrees? That’s a hard pass from this rollercoaster enthusiast!
In the spirit of expanding their offerings for guests, Cedar Point is aiming to deliver some major adrenaline rushes too, as demonstrated by a recent announcement they’ve made. By the end of this week, this Ohio amusement park has given fans an exciting sneak peek at a brand new, heart-stopping rollercoaster. While many are undoubtedly excited about this upcoming attraction, some have expressed on social media their shared apprehension that I resonate with deeply.
Cedar Point has revealed a preliminary design for Siren’s Curse, scheduled to debut in the summer of 2025. Based on tales of enigmatic sea creatures dwelling deep within Lake Erie, this thrilling ride promises to be the tallest, swiftest, and longest ’tilt’ coaster in North America according to People.

I’m someone who enjoys a thrilling rollercoaster ride every now and then, having had fantastic experiences on Universal Orlando’s The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Busch Gardens’ Loch Ness Monster in Williamsburg, and more. However, Siren’s Curse seems to be an entirely unique experience that has me feeling a bit apprehensive. I’m not comfortable with the idea of being both suspended in mid-air and tilted, and it seems others share my doubts. One person even posted a question on X about this very concern that was echoing in my mind as well.

Some may have been under the impression that a runaway camel may have been the wildest development involving Cedar Point this year, but not so. In fairness, the park, which changed its rollercoaster safety rules in regard to “loose articles” this year, does know how to thrill fans. The intriguing name for Universal Studios Hollywood’s Fast and Furious roller coaster has been disclosed, but there’s a disappointing twist: one bit of annoying news.
It’s not the first instance this year where news about a roller coaster at the park owned by Cedar Fair has been in the spotlight. Earlier in May, Top Thrill 2 had to be shut down following its opening due to a technical problem. This ride was already under scrutiny because of an incident that took place in August last year. During that time, a piece of metal came loose from the coaster (known as Top Thrill Dragster at the time) and struck a visitor on the head.
To sum it up, Siren’s Curse stands out remarkably due to its unique nature and bold concept. Although some social media feedback might suggest otherwise, I believe a lot of people will be eagerly waiting for its opening next year. As for me, I’m currently hesitant about joining the throng, but maybe my feelings could shift in time. Fingers crossed that the construction of the roller coaster progresses smoothly!
