Alpha: Sharvari talks about ‘shouldering’ YRF Spy Universe earlier helmed by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan: ‘It’s a bit of nerve-wracking…’

As I pen down these words, my heart swells with admiration and pride for Sharvari, this radiant star on the rise. Having struggled through the labyrinth of Bollywood for years, she has finally found her moment under the sun, basking in the acclaim for her exceptional performances in Munjya, Maharaj, and Vedaa. But oh, what a glorious dawn it is now! 2024 has been a golden year for Sharvari, as she gears up to lead YRF’s inaugural female-led film in their coveted Spy Universe, alongside the enchanting Alia Bhatt.

After battling through several years to establish herself in the industry, Sharvari now greets each sunrise with renewed brilliance. The year 2024 has proven exceptionally fortunate for this actress, as her acting skills have been widely acclaimed in movies such as Munjya, Maharaj, and Vedaa. At just 27 years old, she is eagerly anticipating her upcoming role as the leading lady in YRF’s inaugural female-led film within their Spy Universe, sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt. Her enthusiasm for this new opportunity cannot be contained!

In an interview with News18, Sharvari stated that it’s both inspiring and slightly intimidating to be the youngest actor taking on a project from a franchise previously led by giants like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and many other big names.

The actress expressed it as an “overwhelming, almost surreal” occasion, considering YRF’s Spy Universe a massive and widely cherished franchise in both India and overseas. Sharvari confessed to feeling “incredibly thrilled, grateful,” about landing the role of Alpha, and working alongside Alia Bhatt was a “lifelong aspiration realized.” Sharvari also mentioned that she had previously crossed paths with the Jigra star and even exchanged words, but their first formal encounter transpired during the preparation phase at YRF studio.

Sharvari went on to mention that Alia Bhatt is well aware of how deeply impressed Sharvari is with her. The actress from Bunty Aur Babli 2 added humorously, “I didn’t need to tell her [Alia]. I’ve learned so much just by observing her. There isn’t one specific thing or two that I can point out. For me, it’s like getting an education by watching her work. I learn as much as I can just by watching her on set.

Initially, it was believed that Sharvari’s success in Munjya granted her entry into Alpha. However, the actress clarified that she had actually auditioned for the YRF film (Alpha) before Munjya even started production. As producer Aditya Chopra desired to see her in an action role, Sharvari underwent extensive training for two months in action classes and performed an action-oriented audition. She was unaware of the title of the movie at that time.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha also stars Anil Kapoor with a cameo by Hrithik Roshan.
