As a seasoned adventurer who has traversed the vast landscapes of Hyrule countless times, I must say that Nintendo never ceases to amaze me with their immersive and detailed game worlds. The latest addition to the Zelda franchise, Echoes of Wisdom, is no exception. While Princess Zelda’s solo adventure might be captivating, it’s the return of the iconic horseback riding that truly gets my heart racing!
In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, we find ourselves traversing through locales ranging from the Gerudo Desert to the Eldin regions – reminiscent of the diorama-like visuals from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Although Princess Zelda’s solo adventure has been highly praised, it doesn’t diminish the fact that Nintendo has once again constructed an expansive representation of the Hyrule Kingdom.
Exploring various regions becomes effortless once the warp points are unlocked, but traversing those vast landscapes may grow exhausting. Luckily, you gain access to a horse at an early stage of the game, and this tutorial will have you dashing through with ease!
Horses are in Hyrule Ranch
The western part of the map holds Hyrule Stables, where numerous steeds are ready for you to mount. Suthorn Village lies just south of it. Upon your arrival at the stables, various horses await riders, though Zelda is unable to take any horses beyond the stable’s premises. If a rancher approaches with worry in his eyes, it might be because one of his horses has gone astray. Approach him and embark on the mission to Retrieve the Runaway Horse.
How to Complete the Runaway Horse
As soon as you embark on your journey, the rancher will inform you that the lost horse ventured beyond the ranch, moving more towards the western region. Proceed to the next location and scan the surrounding areas for three distinct plateaus. Upon reaching them, you’ll discover a tiny lake with a small island nestled in its lower right corner. The missing horse can be found stranded on this island within the lake.
Here’s my take:
After Zelda finds the lost steed, the rancher will express gratitude and offer her the chance to pick any horse from the three options at no cost. Meanwhile, gaming enthusiasts can now enjoy riding on the wind, reminiscent of classic Zelda gameplay.
Horses in this game naturally run forward when set free, so all you need to do is guide them by pushing the left thumbstick in the desired direction. Pressing button A makes the horse sprint, while pressing button B or reversing the direction with the left thumbstick causes the horse to come to a halt.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that your reliable companion, the horse, is now at your disposal! Navigating through the various villages and territories in the kingdom will feel like a walk in the park. Here’s an amazing collection of guides for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom to help you rescue Link and save Hyrule from peril. Enjoy the adventure!
