Ami Paris Opens Its First Café in Beijing, China

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for all things fashionable and immersive, I can’t help but feel a sense of exhilaration at the news of Ami Paris expanding into the realm of hospitality. Having traversed countless virtual worlds in my gaming escapades, I’ve always dreamt of stepping into a Parisian café right here in Beijing, China.

Ami Paris is making a move into the hospitality industry by launching its latest project. The new Cafe Ami will be situated in the upscale shopping mall Taikoo Li Sanlitun, right here in Beijing, China.

Beginning this weekend, Café Ami will open its doors to the public, marking its new role within the refreshed and relocated store premises. Boasting Haussmann-inspired Parisian architecture, the café mirrors a traditional French café exterior, boasting ornate moldings that echo Ami Paris’ distinctive black-and-white stripes on its awnings. To further evoke the quintessential Parisian ambiance, rattan chairs have been arranged with bistro tables. In addition to offering caffeinated beverages, the café will provide seasonal mocktails, desserts, and other delightful treats.

cafe Ami, occupying a 1,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of the mall complex, will serve as both a retail outlet for Ami-branded merchandise in men’s and women’s fashion, as well as accessories. This is a permanent location, following Ami Paris’ pop-up cafes in Beijing’s Taikoo Li Sanlitun, Shanghai, and Chengdu last year. As stated by Nicolas Sant-Weil, CEO of Ami Paris, the aim is to create an enjoyable, trendy experience that isn’t pretentious but remains sophisticated. This initiative serves as a connection between France and China, with the shift from the luxury-focused North district to the more welcoming, busier South district, catering to a younger clientele.

Ami Paris’ temporary pop-up cafés are set to debut in Bangkok, Los Angeles, and Tokyo soon. These cafés will showcase Ami Paris merchandise, including mugs and tote bags. Regarding the permanent location in Beijing, Santi-Weil explains, “We aim to honor Beijing Sanlitun as our initial [mainland China] partner, since it’s significant for us. It’s a substantial investment, so we want to ensure it’s flawless before expanding.” The café is set to open on September 29th.
