Despite Modern Family wrapping up four years ago and some fans still pondering its potential return, a spin-off focused on Cam and Mitchell in Missouri was almost produced. However, Eric Stonestreet, who played Cameron Tucker, recently disclosed that the spin-off didn’t materialize. Although it won’t be happening, Stonestreet continues to brainstorm ways to keep the series alive, and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with!
The Emmy-winning actor was recently interviewed on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger.” During this interview, he discussed extensively about the failed spinoff, expressing that he believes it might still be running if it had been produced. However, he’s uncertain about how it could be revived from a professional and creative perspective. He did reveal to Bensinger his ideas for the franchise’s continuation, which seems quite celebratory in nature.
It’d be great if we could produce a holiday special, something along those lines. There’s been discussion about this. A few writers have proposed the concept of creating a series that pays homage to British Christmas specials, essentially producing a two-hour movie from time to time. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
