This Deleted Scene Of The Golden Bachelorette Contestants Synchronize Swimming Highlights What I Love Most About This Show

As a gamer with over two decades of experience, I must say that “The Golden Bachelorette” has truly stolen my heart! The camaraderie and lack of ego displayed by these golden-aged suitors is nothing short of refreshing, especially after the dramatic, often toxic relationships portrayed on traditional dating shows.

The reality show titled “The Golden Bachelorette” debuted in the 2024 TV lineup, and I find myself shedding the bitter skepticism that surfaced upon Gerry and Theresa’s divorce announcement. The contestants vying for Joan Vassos’ affection in this spin-off’s first season have won me over, and a week after the suitors became internet sensations due to their amusing assessment of Bachelor Mansion, a deleted scene showing some of the men performing synchronized swimming further demonstrates that the “Golden” series is hitting all the right notes.

Perhaps the guys on The Golden Bachelorette were inspired by the best performances of the Paris Olympics, because a handful of them executed a fantastic synchronized swimming routine that, for whatever reason, wasn’t included in the September 25 episode. Thankfully, the deleted scene has been released on Instagram for our viewing pleasure, and it really does highlight what I love most about this show: the camaraderie. Similar to Gerry Turner’s captivating cast on “The Golden Bachelor,” where we were introduced to women such as Susan Noles, Leslie Fhima, and Kathy “Zip it” Swarts, Joan Vassos’ season showcases a team of men who display an extraordinary humility. Unlike the men on “The Golden Bachelorette,” it seems they aren’t competing against each other for a woman; rather, it feels as though they are grateful to meet Joan and view this experience as an opportunity to gain new friends along the way.

Many cast members have expressed feelings of loneliness during their later years, but now they find themselves surrounded by individuals who can empathize with their experiences. This reality show, titled “The Golden Bachelor,” delved into discussions about grief and loss, providing these men an opportunity to connect with other widowed or divorced gentlemen who prioritized raising children over dating.

There’s also plenty of fun to be had, too, and from the looks of another Instagram post, Jack Lencioni wasn’t the only one there for the pool:

I’m really excited to see pictures of the fellows having a good time, chatting over drinks, and sharing laughter. Charles Ling’s dance in the pool on that final slide is simply fantastic! I can’t get enough of those scenes where someone receives a rose or a date card, and all the men rise to congratulate their friend. It provides such a pleasant change from the usual tension on shows like The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

It’d be fantastic if more heartwarming interactions among the contestants on The Golden Bachelorette keep appearing on the show (or at least on social media platforms, as was the case with this particular one), since it’s the strong friendships forged on The Golden Bachelorette that truly make the series exceptional.

Don’t miss out on following Joan Vassos’ adventure, as fresh episodes go live every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and become available to stream the very next day with a Hulu subscription. If you’re curious about who she ends up with in her romantic storyline, we have a sneak peek of who wins Joan’s season!
