Salomon Sets Up Shop in Soho

As a seasoned city dweller who’s spent countless hours traipsing through the concrete jungle of New York City, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia at the arrival of Salomon to our bustling metropolis. The Swiss outdoor label has always been synonymous with adventure, durability, and style – qualities that any true New Yorker can appreciate.

Salomon, known for its expanding global footprint, has now established its presence in Manhattan, marking one of its significant North American expansions so far. As the outdoor brand broadens its horizons with flagship stores in France and retail outlets across Europe and Asia, Salomon has officially inaugurated its inaugural New York City pop-up store.

The Spring Street store, nestled right in the bustling Soho district, has officially opened its doors to visitors and will continue to do so until January 2025. Focusing on Salomon’s Sportstyle line, this store is more than just a retail space; it serves as a trial run, as the brand intends to establish a permanent presence in New York City come 2025. According to a recent announcement, Salomon aims to open five physical stores next year, with the first one being a NYC-based storefront.

The shop houses an exclusive variety of shoes, which includes the ACS, Speedcross 3, and XT-6 designs, among others. To celebrate the launch of the store, Salomon has reintroduced the stylish Snowclog shape.

According to Salomon’s president of the Americas, Steve Doolan, New York has been associated with Salomon as a global cultural center for many years. More recently, this connection has extended to some of the city’s most renowned heritage styles, which are visible on the streets daily. This observation inspired them to engage directly with the community through a physical store.
