Kamala Harris Wins Howard Stern’s Vote, Calls Out Donald Trump’s Lack of Empathy in Live Interviews

As a seasoned gamer with over 30 years of political gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming presidential election is shaping up to be a thrilling battle royale. With Howard Stern, the self-proclaimed king of all media, throwing his hat into the ring and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, it’s clear that she has a formidable ally in her corner.

During an interview on his SiriusXM show on Tuesday, Howard Stern announced that he intends to cast his vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. This revelation was made during one of several media appearances Harris is making this week as she wraps up the final month of her campaign.

In my excitement, I recently sat down for an in-depth chat on The Howard Stern Show. While we touched upon my campaign and some policy matters, as usual with Howard’s interviews, the focus was largely personal. I shared stories about my late mother, my family, and how my heartfelt discussions with friends and my husband serve as a form of therapy for me. About halfway through our conversation, Howard surprised me by announcing his support for my candidacy.

In simpler terms, Stern expressed bewilderment to Harris about the tightness of the election, particularly regarding Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee. He clarified that while he supports her, he’d also vote for a random wall over Trump because Trump allegedly doesn’t back Ukraine. Essentially, Stern is puzzled as to why American voters would want such international turmoil.

Strongly impactful, Stern commands considerable sway among his dedicated followers. Boasting an approximate following of 20 million, only podcast host Joe Rogan can rival Stern in terms of audience magnitude and potential to shape opinions – a fact shared by their predominantly male listener base.

Besides having a chat with the self-styled master of all media, Harris additionally featured on the daytime talk show, The View, which aired two hours earlier on Tuesday. Subsequently, the vice president is scheduled to record a guest segment for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which will be broadcasted that same evening. These appearances conclude a week in which Harris already dropped by 60 Minutes and the Call Her Daddy podcast.

In a visit to ABC’s “The View,” Harris challenged Trump’s ability to empathize, detailed her proposed approach to healthcare in her administration, and asserted that she cannot conceive of any actions she would have taken differently than President Joe Biden during his term.

On Tuesday, Harris responded to inquiries posed by the morning show hosts, a panel consisting of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines. Navarro probed Harris about her ability to tolerate Trump’s deceit, particularly regarding his claim that FEMA funds were being diverted towards migrants instead of hurricane victims.

Harris strongly criticized this as both deeply troubling and an unconscionable act of indifference. She recounted a story about a woman from Georgia who lost her husband during Hurricane Helene when a tree fell on their home. The woman faced the heartbreaking reality of never being able to rebuild or return to her home, while Trump appeared to be more concerned with his own interests than helping others. Harris expressed concern that Trump may lack empathy and the fundamental understanding of a leader’s role – not to harm people, but to support them and uplift them instead.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to avoid a phone call with the vice president following the hurricane, which is typically expected of our political leaders, was brought up. Harris clarified that this matter isn’t necessarily about partisanship or politics for some leaders, “yet it might be for others.

Trump faced a fair amount of critique. Initially, it was Behar who labeled him as a convicted felon and a significant failure. Later, Harris articulated that Trump’s self-centered perspective might not be suitable for the political landscape.

Kamala Harris stated that “Donald Trump seems to focus on exploiting issues rather than resolving them.” She added that he’s not focused on finding solutions, instead he spends most of his time complaining about past grievances. He also spreads false information and fabricates stories. He often criticizes and humiliates people, but rarely talks about what truly matters: you, your needs, the needs of your parents, or the needs of your children.

Regarding the sensitive topics of immigration and border security in the U.S., Harris emphasized that Trump vetoed a bipartisan bill, while the president seemed more interested in using this controversy as a campaign issue, instead of letting it be addressed through legislative solutions that were hard-fought for.

On Tuesday, Harris made her eighth visit to The View, with her last studio appearance being on January 17th. She is now the second vice president currently in office to be a guest on this talk show, following Vice President Biden’s groundbreaking appearance in April 2010.

More to come.
