As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for fashion and art, I’ve long admired Jun Takahashi’s work under the UNDERCOVER label. His unique blend of style and surrealism has always resonated with me, much like how my favorite games transport me to alternate realities.
This month, renowned artist Jun Takahashi will be showcasing his debut solo art exhibition titled “Peaceable Kingdom” in Hong Kong.
Known primarily as the founder of UNDERCOVER, Takahishi is a renowned figure in the fashion industry. However, he has been secretly creating art outside of his fashion projects for many years. In 2023, he finally unveiled his artwork to the world and even graced the cover of TopMob Magazine last fall. This marks his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong.
Diving headfirst into the enigmatic and dreamlike realm crafted by Takahashi, I’ll be exploring the trio of canvases that have subtly influenced the design ethos of their SS25 Men’s collection. At this upcoming exhibition, not only will these thought-provoking pieces be on display, but a fresh body of work is set to debut as well. The underlying theme tying it all together revolves around expressing the ongoing struggle between the turmoil of our current world and the artist’s yearning for tranquility.
From October 25th to December 14th, 2024, you can see Jun Takahashi’s exhibition titled Peaceable Kingdom at the WKM Gallery in Hong Kong.
