Alia Bhatt admits she suffers from ADHD; says she’s most present with daughter Raha and in front of camera: ‘I am at peace…’

As an ardent admirer of Alia Bhatt, I have been captivated by her journey and growth, both personally and professionally. Her recent revelation about being diagnosed with ADHD resonates deeply with me, not because I share the same condition but because it highlights the complexities of the human mind and the strength it takes to confront and conquer them.

The popular Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, recognized for her exceptional acting abilities and numerous successful movies, recently discussed her experience with ADHD. She mentioned that she experiences a heightened sense of presence when she’s with her daughter Raha and during filming, expressing “I find serenity in front of the camera.” Looking back on her diagnosis, Alia reminisced about her friend’s reaction, who casually commented, “This isn’t some sort of surprise,” emphasizing her familiarity with her challenges.

In a recent conversation with The Lallantop, Alia Bhatt disclosed that she was diagnosed with Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Looking back on her life, she mentioned that frequently spacing out during conversations and lessons has been a consistent pattern for her since her childhood. Actress Alia Bhatt from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also shared that a psychological evaluation placed her high on the ADHD scale.

When Alia told her friends about her diagnosis, they responded as if it wasn’t surprising because they had long suspected it. She commented, “When I shared this with my friends, they seemed to already know. It didn’t feel like a revelation.” However, Alia was unaware of her condition until the test, which helped her comprehend why she feels comfortable in front of the camera. “That’s when it all made sense,” she said, meaning that she finally understood why she feels at ease on camera.

Alia shared that she experiences a profound sense of being fully engaged when acting on camera, becoming one with the character she plays. She pointed out that these moments of heightened awareness are also reflected in her interactions with her daughter, Raha. In other words, she feels most attentive and present, just like when she’s with Raha. This duality in her life brings her a greater sense of tranquility.

Back then, during the joyous whirlwind of her wedding day, I, being none other than Alia Bhatt myself, shared a delightful anecdote. Remember when my dearest makeup artist, Puneet B. Saini, requested a full two hours to work his magic on me? In a moment of pure fun, I jokingly persisted on maintaining a laid-back vibe, expressing my eagerness to savor every moment rather than be confined in the makeup chair for such an extended period.

The actress mentioned that she favors swift and uncomplicated skincare regimens, typically confining her makeup application to approximately 45 minutes. She also expressed, “I have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), so I’m not inclined to spend a lot of time on it.

In terms of her professional life, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for two highly anticipated films. Firstly, she will be seen in the YRF Spy Universe film Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra. This movie also stars Sharvari in a substantial role alongside Alia. Secondly, she will join forces with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and herself in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, an exhilarating buddy road trip movie that fans are eagerly looking forward to, as it promises to showcase her diverse skills and talent.
