As a seasoned researcher with a keen interest in Web3 and blockchain technology, I find myself captivated by the latest developments at Moonveil. Having closely followed the evolution of gaming networks and L2 solutions, I must say that Moonveil’s strategic moves have certainly piqued my curiosity.
Moonveil, the network for Web3 gaming, is getting ready for its Token Generation Event (TGE). Not only have they set the date for their node sale, but they’ve also announced a significant investment from Polygon Labs. This investment includes the purchase of nodes and a role as a validator on Moonveil’s mainnet.
Moonveil is constructed utilizing the Polygon CDK (Chain Development Kit), establishing strong links with the wider Polygon network. These connections are expected to grow even stronger, as Moonveil has promised to re-invest half of the funding they received from Polygon Labs towards fostering the expansion of gaming initiatives that aim to leverage AggLayer, a platform offering cross-chain connectivity for all Polygon projects.
Node Sale Goes Live October 22
The Moonveil community has been anxiously anticipating the announcement of the node sale date, as 50,000 nodes will be up for grabs. The much-awaited event is now officially scheduled for October 22, with a whitelist sale kicking off on that day, followed by open access to the public two days later on October 24. With the significant role these nodes play in the expanding Moonveil ecosystem and the lucrative incentives offered to node operators, it’s no surprise that demand for them is predicted to be considerable.
Moonveil nodes are essential in managing activities within the gaming-centric Layer 2 network, specifically with regards to decentralizing Data Accessibility, Proof Verification, and Transaction Arrangement. In compensation for maintaining their nodes and adhering to requirements, owners receive a continuous flow of token incentives. Out of this reward, 70% is scheduled to vest over a three-year period, while 25% will be immediately accessible upon the completion of the Moonveil Token Generation Event (TGE).
Making Web3 Gaming Great
One of the difficulties when creating web3 games is making sure that gameplay isn’t hindered by blockchain complications like congestion, increasing fees, or transaction delays, which can happen during periods of high demand. Moonveil’s L2 (Layer 2) has been specifically designed to address these issues and offers developers an established player community eager to discover the newest GameFi launches.
To date, Moonveil has created several mini games and two complete ones: Bushwack and AstrAsk (which is currently in testing as a strategy tower defense game within the testnet). In the near future, more third-party games will be added to enhance the web3 gaming experience and showcase the potential of Moonveil’s scalable L2.
Speaking about Polygon Labs’ investment, Moonveil CEO MJ expressed that this significant backing enables us to accelerate our vision of establishing a gaming environment where both players and creators can prosper. I am confident that the expansion of our developer grant program will stimulate innovation and entice leading developers to join Moonveil.
Game developers specializing in GameFi now have several Layer 2 networks available to host their blockchain games. The attractive rewards for development on Moonveil, combined with the robust liquidity and cross-chain compatibility offered by AggLayer, could persuade them that the future of web3 gaming is best realized through the Polygon blockchain ecosystem.
