Jim Henson Company Developing ‘Paul The Bear’ Kids TV Show (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer with an eye for quality content and a soft spot for puppet-based productions, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about “Paul The Bear.” Having grown up on classics like Fraggle Rock and Farscape, the prospect of a new series from The Jim Henson Company is nothing short of thrilling.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’ve joined forces with the creative geniuses at The Jim Henson Company, known for their magical puppet-driven productions like Fraggle Rock and Farscape. Together, we’re collaborating with Julia Pott, the mastermind behind Summer Camp Island, and Raviv Ullman, a former Disney Star, to bring Paul The Bear, a brand new kids series, to life!

A new live-action television series centered around a retired brown bear rediscovering himself and his community is being presented to potential buyers at MIPCOM. This production, titled “Paul The Bear“, is the brainchild of Pott, a British animator and artist residing in Los Angeles, as well as Ullman, who gained fame portraying Phil Diffy, the lead character in Disney’s Phil of the Future series.

Apart from being created by The Jim Henson Company, the series is overseen by executive producers Lisa Henson, Halle Stanford, Pott, and Ullman. Titled “Paul The Bear,” this production is set in an English coastal town and blends real-life actors with puppet animals. A notable aspect is that it boasts a lead character who communicates nonverbally.

As a recently retired seafarer who spent decades navigating the open waters as a long-haul fisherman, sharing my living quarters with bears around the clock, I’m thrilled to embrace solitude. I now find joy in painting still lifes of cherished household items, attending plays, and volunteering at the library. However, adapting to this new chapter isn’t without its challenges, and I must put forth some effort to strike a harmonious balance in my life.

Pott was responsible for producing six seasons of the show “Summer Camp Island” on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, serving both as its creator and executive producer. Meanwhile, Ullman has worked in various roles within television on networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, HBO, MTV, Disney, and Comedy Central. Currently, Ullman is working on the script and direction for their debut feature film with Jersey Films 2nd Avenue.

Potter is associated with UTA (United Talent Agency) and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, while Ullman is linked to CESD Talent Agency and Vision Entertainment.
