After FBI: Most Wanted's Season 6 Premiere Made Me Very Worried For One Agent, The Showrunner Cleared The Air About Remy And That Crosby Throwback

As a long-time fan and avid gamer of the FBI series, I must say that the Season 6 premiere of FBI: Most Wanted left me both thrilled and concerned. The terrifying fugitive we’ve come to expect was present, but Remy’s physical and mental state at the end had me a tad worried.

Spoilers ahead for the Season 6 premiere of FBI: Most Wanted on CBS, called “Aquarium Drinker.”

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that “FBI: Most Wanted” began its sixth season in the 2024 TV lineup with a chilling fugitive that long-term viewers have grown accustomed to, and this case took a heavy toll on Remy, both mentally and physically. By the finale, he was visibly shaken, which had me worried about his wellbeing. Fortunately, I managed to chat with showrunner David Hudgins about the premiere, and he shed some light on Remy’s situation… and also touched upon the reference to Crosby.

At the conclusion of the episode, Remy found his apartment occupied by Abby and his sister. This aligns with the updates on the romantic status of Remy and Abby from the showrunner that TopMob received about FBI: Most Wanted. However, the Supervisory Special Agent was afflicted with a severe headache following his earlier comment that he’s “tired of this nonsense.” Consequently, I started to worry that Remy might face health issues during Season 6, leading me to inquire from David Hudgins about how seriously we should interpret Remy’s remarks.

As it turns out? Not very literally at all. Hudgins explained:

In the first episode, Remy appeared emotional with Abby, but don’t worry, he’s okay and not leaving. Initially, I wanted to portray him as a feared fugitive, yet I needed to humanize him because his line of work is risky. We won’t kill or injure him severely, but he’ll take a hit to the face instead. That incident left its mark on him, making him vulnerable momentarily with Abby, expressing some self-pity, but rest assured, he’s alright. This year, his story will revolve around Abby.

Don’t fret, fans of FBI: Most Wanted, there’s no need for concern! The symptoms Remy displayed (the headache and exhaustion) weren’t indicators of a brain tumor or him being too aged to continue his fieldwork, as some may have speculated based on earlier seasons. Instead, it was an emotional moment where Remy shared his feelings with Abby, not a foreshadowing of any impending danger. You can catch those earlier seasons streaming with a Peacock subscription.

Absolutely, I’m talking about the series that shocked us all by offing Julian McMahon’s character, Jess LaCroix, in a twist that left fans reeling. Given this show’s history of unexpected turns, it’s not far-fetched to expect even main cast members could meet their end. However, David Hudgins assures us not to fret too much about character deaths this season.

This team is exceptional, with outstanding performances from its members, and the narratives are engaging. There’s no need to worry about anyone leaving; they’re committed to the entire 22-episode season, though not necessarily every episode. I dislike writing off characters.

A compelling instance of the show FBI: Most Wanted handling a character’s departure without resorting to their demise is Kenny Crosby, portrayed by Kellan Lutz from the series debut up until mid-Season 3. Although it has been some time since his character was written off to accommodate Lutz’s decision to leave, the Season 6 premiere demonstrated that absence doesn’t necessarily mean irrelevance.

In “Aquarium Drinker,” as Hana pieced together clues regarding the slain police officer, she formulated a hypothesis concerning why the victim and his partner slept in separate rooms. This theory stemmed from her past experiences of living with Crosby and the necessity of using a CPAP machine. Discussing this with Remy, Hana explained:

Did I ever mention my former roommate, Crosby, who was quite the noisy sleeper? Indeed, that was accurate.

The update about Sidney Crosby wasn’t an extensive recap detailing his activities since Season 3’s early departure, but it was still enjoyable for long-term viewers like me when Hana acknowledged him. When I shared this with David Hudgins, the showrunner, he chuckled and replied.

Absolutely, absolutely! It’s great you noticed that. It’s great because, in fact, it could have been Ivan or anyone else who snores. But, it turned out to be Crosby. I appreciate Crosby and it’s nice to maintain that memory.

Although it appears that the Crosby period of FBI: Most Wanted has come to an end, one team member was missing from the Season 6 debut but won’t stay away for long. Actress Roxy Sternberg will reprise her role as Barnes, though this time Barnes will return without Charlotte by her side.

Find out what comes next for the task force as they continue their mission on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, starting with FBI: Most Wanted. You can also stream these new episodes with a Paramount+ subscription, but don’t forget to check out Peacock for earlier seasons of Most Wanted and International.
