Salman Khan Firing Case: Lawrence Bishnoi gang offered Rs 25 lakh to shooters, AK-47 allegedly sourced from Pakistan; Report

As a devoted admirer of Salman Khan’s cinematic artistry and charisma, this news has left me both alarmed and bewildered. The audacity of such a plot against a beloved figure in our film industry is truly astounding.

A 25 million Rupee contract for assassinating actor Salman Khan, close to his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra, is stated in a chargesheet submitted by Navi Mumbai Police. The five people named in the chargesheet are said to have carried out this plan, which was masterminded by the gang headed by imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

As reported by NDTV, the suspects were intending to procure sophisticated firearms such as AK-47s, AK-92s, M-16 rifles, and Zigana pistles (similar to the one involved in Sidhu Moosewala’s murder) from Pakistan.

The suspects had recruited boys under 18 for the job, who are currently hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.

Approximately 60 to 70 people were keeping tabs on the whereabouts of the Sikandar actor, focusing primarily on his residences in Bandra, Panvel farmhouse, and Goregaon Film City, as detailed in the court document. During this time frame from August 2023 to April 2024, a plan to carry out an assassination was carefully orchestrated against him.

Previously, it was found during an investigation that Sukkha, apprehended in Panipat, Haryana on October 17th, delegated the mission of the assassination to Ajay Kashyap, often referred to as AK, and four other accomplices. In simpler terms, Sukkha was the one who gave the order for the assassination to AK and his team.

Kashyap and his group first scouted out the area and found that because the actor has strict security measures and travels in armored cars, it would require sophisticated weapons to carry out the operation successfully.

In a video conversation, Sukkha contacted the Pakistani arms trader, Dogar, who unveiled various guns including an AK-47, concealed under a shawl, while they discussed the terms of the transaction.

Dogar consented to provide the weaponry, while Sukkha pledged to pay half of the cost initially, with the remaining amount due after delivery in India.

The document detailing the allegations reveals that the suspected assassins had a strategy to reunite in Kanyakumari following the actor’s murder, with the ultimate goal of fleeing to Sri Lanka on a boat. Their aim was to continue their journey to a nation beyond the jurisdiction of Indian investigative departments.

During the probe into the shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s home in Bandra, it was discovered that a plan to assault him at his farmhouse in Panvel had been devised.
