Shah Rukh Khan, a native of Delhi, and Manoj Bajpayee, originally from Bihar, are just two examples among many who made this move. An actor, like Jaideep Ahlawat, hailing from Haryana, is another member of this group. Initially aspiring to serve in the army, he kickstarted his career with Akshay Kumar’s film and later portrayed Bajpayee’s father in his groundbreaking movie.
Originally from Meham village in Rohtak district’s Kharkara, Jaideep Ahlawat initially harbored ambitions to serve in the military. Yet, life steered him towards acting instead. In a conversation with News 18, this distinguished actor recounted his journey, sharing how he turned to theater after his dream of becoming an Indian army officer fell apart.
In 2022, he shared with the portal that his dream was to become an Indian army officer, but that didn’t materialize. Instead, he found himself drawn to the world of theater. Later on, he pursued education in India’s Film and Television Industry.
Jaideep made the choice to pursue acting instead after repeatedly failing to pass the SSB interviews for the Indian Army. Recently on The Ranveer Show podcast, the star of Paatal Lok admitted that he still feels remorseful about not being able to serve in the army. Interestingly, he shared that his affection for the army uniform might be equated with his first love.
Jaideep Ahlawat kicked off his acting journey with the movie “Khatta Meetha,” directed by Priyadarshan, which was a political satire comedy. Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan headlined this 2010 film, while Jaideep took on the role of Sanjay Rana, a character portraying a politician. Later in 2010, he also appeared in the movie “Aakrosh,” featuring Ajay Devgn.
Jaideep played the role of a cop, Hathi Ram Chaudhary in the web series, Paatal Lok in 2020.
In the year 2012, Jaideep encountered a significant shift in his acting journey under the guidance of renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap during the production of Gangs of Wasseypur.
In a fascinating turn of events, the actor from Raazi was given the opportunity to portray Manoj Bajpayee’s on-screen father in his groundbreaking movie. Consequently, Manoj assumed the role of Sardar Khan, whereas Jaideep took on the character of Shahid Khan in the gripping black comedy crime film.
Previously this year, he was spotted acting in the movie “Maharaj,” which was produced by YRF. In this film, Junaid Khan, a newcomer and son of Aamir Khan, also appeared.
