Kajol reveals Shah Rukh Khan once told her to learn acting; opens up about feeling ‘burnt out’ at 18: ‘I cannot move anymore’

As a lifestyle expert, I find it captivating to delve into the lives of individuals who have made significant strides in their respective fields. Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, two powerhouse talents of Bollywood, serve as an inspiring example of perseverance, growth, and the transformative power of encouragement.

In the world of Bollywood, two highly influential actors, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, have captivated viewers with their remarkable on-screen rapport in various movies. An extraordinary partnership between them might not have materialized if Kajol hadn’t been motivated to persist acting, despite feeling exhausted and immobile after her third film at the age of 18. It was Shah Rukh who convinced her to develop her acting skills, asserting that it would make the experience much more enjoyable for her.

In a recent chat with India Today, Kajol reminisced about her part in Udhaar Ki Zindagi, her third movie when she was 18 years old. Back then, Shah Rukh Khan advised her to perfect acting skills, an instruction that initially puzzled Kajol.

She mentioned, “After completing the movie, Shah Rukh commented, ‘You realize you simply need to master acting.’ I responded, ‘What on earth is he referring to? What does he mean?’ Clearly, I was delivering an outstanding performance!

In no time, Kajol came to understand that movie acting was becoming quite demanding for her. By the time she had completed her third film, she started feeling a growing weariness and admitted that she was drained after portraying intense roles.

During the filming of Udhaar Ki Zindagi, the actress reminisced about her time on set, sharing that upon wrapping up the project, she confided in her mother about her feelings of fatigue. At 18 and a half years old, she admitted to being utterly drained, explaining that she could no longer shed tears or use glycerin and was not inclined to take on more challenging roles anymore.

Rather than pursuing multiple projects, she now prefers those with just “four scenes and ten songs.” This change in preference resulted in her agreeing to star in four films that matched her new perspective, such as Gunda Raj and Hulchul. She also mentioned that it was during this time that she truly mastered the art of acting.

In terms of professional endeavors, Khan is set to appear in the film “King” directed by Sujoy Ghosh, alongside Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma. Meanwhile, Kajol will make her appearance on Netflix’s series “Do Patti,” scheduled for release on October 25th.
