Keanu Reeves and Other A-Listers Announced for Prime’s Secret Level Cast

Having grown up playing God of War, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Honor of Kings, and Pac-Man, among others, it’s simply thrilling to see these iconic video game worlds come alive in a unique and immersive way through animation.

The eagerly awaited “Secret Level” television show, which has sparked interest among film aficionados and gamers alike, has now revealed its impressive lineup of stars. This cast boasts some of Hollywood’s most renowned figures, such as Keanu Reeves from the John Wick series and Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator franchise. This exciting announcement was made at Gamescom on August 20, 2024. The adult-animated anthology series is set to span across fifteen episodes.

At New York Comic Con 2024, Prime Video officially announced the cast for its upcoming animated series, set to debut on their streaming platform on December 10, 2024. This new series is a joint production by Blur Studio and Amazon MGM Studios. While many film enthusiasts are accustomed to Amazon MGM Studios due to their contributions to Prime Video originals, Blur Studio has been instrumental in creating some of the most successful films, such as Avatar, Man of Steel, Sonic the Hedgehog, Deadpool, and numerous others.

Beyond creating these well-known video games like “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare I & II”, “Spider-Man 2”, and “Sonic the Hedgehog”, Blur Studio has also been part of both film and gaming projects. Given their versatility in both fields, it made perfect sense for them to develop “Secret Level”, a production that immerses itself deeply within the realm of video games.

What Is Secret Level About?

The unique series titled “Secret Level” is akin to the popular anthology “Love, Death & Robots,” breathing life into intricate science fiction and fantasy tales through vivid imagination. Designed as a tribute to both gaming enthusiasts and animation aficionados, this anthology will feature 15 captivating short stories, each set within the realms of iconic video game franchises such as “God of War,” “Crossfire,” “Dungeons & Dragons,” “Honor of Kings,” and “Pac-Man.”>

Each installment delves deep into the captivating lore of various video games, offering viewers a chance to explore these imaginative realms. However, it seems that the team behind the series found it challenging to choose which games would be included in this collection. During an interview with Collider, the show’s creator, Tim Miller, discussed their selection process.

Our group consistently favored a diverse selection of games, each with its unique appeal. Some were nostalgic favorites from our childhood, while others boasted massive followings due to their popularity. There were numerous factors drawing us in, so we were always open to various options. Essentially, we aimed to combine well-established titles with fresh, upcoming releases.

In addition, Tim Miller serves as the executive producer of the show, collaborating with Dave Wilson who is the supervising director. Previously, Blur Studio and Tim Miller teamed up for the hit Netflix anthology series “Love, Death & Robots,” which shares a resemblance with “Secret Level“. Consequently, viewers can anticipate that the forthcoming animated series will deliver an equally captivating experience.

Secret Level
will be available on Prime Video beginning December 10, 2024.
