Vampire Survivors to debut Ode to Castlevania in massive new DLC pack, coming this Halloween

  • Vampire Survivors has finally done the unthinkable and brought chief inspiration Castlevania to the game
  • 20+ tough-as-nails new characters, 40+ new deadly weapons and 30+ new bumping music tracks
  • And features the biggest ever Vampire Survivors stage yet

As a long-time fan of both Vampire Survivors and Castlevania, I can hardly contain my excitement over Poncle’s latest announcement! I’ve been waiting for this moment since the day I first picked up a whip in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Initially, everyone, including my family, had their doubts about me. However, those doubts were put aside as Poncle ceased mocking us and took an unprecedented step. They’ve officially announced their latest DLC, titled “Ode to Castlevania,” which is set to grace Vampire Survivors. This upcoming content promises to be among the richest DLC sets for the hit game, Bullet Heaven, thus far, with it featuring beloved characters, weapons, and music from the legendary Castlevania series.

Besides Simon Belmont and Alucard, you’ll find a variety of regulars, including Julius Belmont from the main series, Soma Cruz from the DS games, as well as less common characters such as John Morris and Eric Lecarde from Castlevania: Bloodlines – all totaling over 20 characters.

This DLC is bursting with content! Over 40 new weapons are being added to the mix, including at least four whips, along with more than 30 music tracks. Whether you prefer well-known themes or stage-specific tunes, composers Daniele Zandara and Filippo Vicarelli will be handling these tracks. To top it off, popular musicians Evelyn Lark and Keygen Church are also contributing their talents to the mix!

Hail from the past

But wait! I can’t even go into my usual specific spiel down here because Ode to Castlevania is also packaged with what is enigmatically called the biggest Vampire Survivors stage ever. And given what hints we see in the trailer above, I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes us through Castle Dracula, its environs and beyond. Not bad for $3.99, eh?

This Halloween, you’ll be able to make a lively entrance into the “Ode to Castlevania” by using a rhythmic movement, and that will happen when the new downloadable content becomes available on all platforms, including mobile ones, starting October 31st.
