L.A. World Cup Committee Opens 2026 Poster Design to Local Artists

As a graphic designer hailing from Los Angeles, born and bred amidst its vibrant artistic scene, this opportunity to design the official poster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in LA is nothing short of a dream come true! The chance to showcase my talent on such a grand stage, with my work potentially displayed at SoFi Stadium – an architectural marvel that rivals the beauty of some of my city’s iconic murals – is beyond exciting.

Similar to how each FIFA World Cup tournament holds a special spot among football enthusiasts, its logos and posters do as well. For the upcoming North American World Cup, organizers are granting local artists an opportunity to create a Los Angeles-themed poster, accompanied by a $20,000 USD award.

The winning submission will be displayed across Southern California, including at SoFi Stadium, one of the most technologically-advanced arenas in the world, which will host eight fixtures during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Produced in collaboration with the Annenberg Foundation, the contest is only open to LA County residents who are 18 and older, with each of three finalists receiving $2,500 USD and $500 USD going to the remaining 12 on the shortlist.

Entries for consideration should be submitted no later than November 17, 2024. These submissions will be evaluated by a local jury consisting of individuals representing diverse LA cultural communities and local businesses. To participate, please navigate to World Cup 26 Los Angeles to submit your entry. Importantly, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to occur in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
