As someone who has grown up admiring Kajol and her illustrious career in Bollywood, it’s heartening to see the sisterly bond between her and Tanishaa evolve over time. Their journey is a testament to the fact that even the closest relationships can experience turbulence, but with understanding and patience, they can overcome any obstacle.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: For years, Kajol, Bollywood’s beloved icon, has captivated audiences with her string of successful films. On the other hand, Tanishaa, my sister, found her place in the industry with her debut in Sssshhh… way back in 2003. Lately, Tanishaa, who starred in Trial, has been open about a past misunderstanding between us sisters. She’s made it clear that this disagreement, though significant at the time, didn’t fundamentally alter our relationship.
During a recent conversation with News 18, Kajol shared some difficult times she experienced in her relationship with her sister, Tanishaa Mukerji. She admitted that working in the same field often leads to comparisons from others, which can unwittingly foster a competitive spirit among siblings due to external pressures.
She indicated that, indeed, the event occurred at some point, without a doubt, but we managed to resolve it. It was brief, transient. It didn’t significantly hinder us. As for Tanishaa, she’s an actress and continues to work in films. Thus, the issue existed once, but it has been resolved now.
Previously, in a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Tanishaa revealed that Kajol decided against watching Neal ‘n’ Nikki because there were many romantic scenes involving her character and her boyfriend, Uday Chopra, which included numerous kisses.
She pondered over the movie’s themes, acknowledging that it included a fair amount of romantic scenes which caused her to avoid watching it entirely. The actress, in fact, suggests to her friends’ kids to postpone viewing it until they’re mature enough, recognizing the traditional values and conservatism still prevalent within their society.
Reflecting on the past, she mentioned that if she encountered Neal and Nikki today, she would handle their roles differently, taking into account the potential influence they might exert on younger viewers.
In a conversation about their on-screen kisses, Tanishaa shared that knowing Uday Chopra well made the experience less awkward. She added that they started dating during the movie’s filming, which made the intimate scenes seem more genuine because it felt like she was sharing those moments with her boyfriend.
During an interview with The Indian Express, Kajol shared her views on social media and the criticism it often brings. She expressed appreciation for having spent most of her life away from it, returning to it just six years ago.
Kajol pointed out that social media often presents just a glimpse of reality, similar to a glamorous red-carpet shot, but fails to show the effort and fatigue hidden behind the scenes. Furthermore, she noted that people tend to post only joyful moments, which can create an inaccurate portrayal of their lives, as it focuses on the good days while ignoring the bad ones.
