As a seasoned gamer with a deep passion for music and a keen interest in environmental issues, I can’t help but feel invigorated by Billie Eilish‘s commitment to climate change activism. Being a part of the gaming community has given me a unique perspective on the power of community and collaboration, and it’s heartening to see these values being leveraged for such a crucial cause.
Billie Eilish is set to be the main performer at the initial American version of Overheated, a climate change advocacy concert organized by her mom’s group, Support+Feed.
Eilish, one of the founders who’s feeling rather warm, will be joining forces with advocates, artists, institutions, and influential thinkers, as stated in the organization’s announcement. The goal is to magnify their initiatives and motivate others by sharing useful advice and easily accessible resources for tackling the climate predicament.
The show is set for November 3rd at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, but it’s already fully booked. However, people worldwide can still catch it live on Eilish’s official YouTube channel.
This event will feature discussions about the significance of storytelling, the influence of food systems, eco-friendly fashion techniques, environmental fairness, and resources for tackling climate change, among other topics. We’ll enjoy a vegetarian meal together during the day, and there will be a dance party to follow!
Notable attendees in addition to these are Baird, Saad Amer, Corinea Austin, Xiye Bastida, Daniel Blackman, Brea Baker, Abre’ Conner, Quintin Crumpler, Jasmine Crowe-Houston, Helena Gualinga, Wawa Gatheru, Isaias Hernandez, Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Jamila Norman, Samata Pattinson, Maya Penn and Angela Watts.
Last year, I hosted an event in the U.K., but my organization, Support+Feed, has been making waves on a much larger scale. We’ve managed to establish our presence in no less than 41 cities worldwide, as stated on our website. Our mission is clear: we’re dedicated to combating climate change and enhancing food security by fostering global demand, approval, and accessibility of plant-based food options.
