As a fan who’s followed Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ career since his days with Bad Boy Records, I must say these recent allegations are deeply troubling and far from the image of success, power, and influence he’s built over the years. The accusations against him are grave and demand thorough investigation.
On Monday, Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing allegations in two separate lawsuits, claiming that he administered drugs to and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old child in a hotel room located in New York City back in 2005.
The second legal claim alleges that the imprisoned hip-hop tycoon is said to have committed a similar act of assault against a prospective contestant, who was only 17 years old at the time, on the reality TV show called “Making the Band” in the year 2008.
The most recent round of lawsuits, brought before the New York State Supreme Court, claim that the plaintiffs were victims of sexual assault by Combs at various social gatherings and professional encounters spanning the past twenty years.
Combs’ legal team dismissed the latest allegations on Monday, instead pointing a finger at attorney Anthony Buzbee, who is representing the accusers in previous suits as well, for pursuing media attention.
Mr. Combs and his lawyers firmly believe in the facts and the honesty of the legal system,” a statement via email stated. “In the courtroom, the truth will emerge: that Mr. Combs has never committed sexual assault or human trafficking, regardless of the age or gender of the individuals involved.
54-year-old Combs is currently detained in a New York City prison, having pleaded not guilty to federal charges of sex trafficking, outlined in an indictment that was unveiled the day after his arrest on September 16th. The accusations against him involve allegedly compelling and mistreating women, as well as intimidating victims by means of blackmail and violence to maintain silence.
A 10-year-old boy, unnamed in the court case, harbored dreams of becoming both an actor and a rapper. He had accompanied his parents on a trip from California for discussions with music industry professionals. However, instead of attending an audition with Combs as planned, he was offered a drink laced with drugs by one of Combs’ associates. The lawsuit alleges that subsequently, Bad Boy Records founder, Combs, sexually assaulted the young boy.
In time, the young lad fell unconscious. Upon regaining awareness, Combs warned that he would severely harm the child’s guardians if the boy spoke about the incident, as stated in the document.
In another legal claim, an anonymous 17-year-old boy asserted that Combs coerced him into participating in sexual acts with both Combs and his bodyguard during a three-day tryout for the Making the Band TV series, which Combs was producing.
According to the documents, when the hopeful competitor voiced concerns, they were removed from the contest and barred from re-entering the music industry for a span of seven years.
Both legal actions were filed based on New York City’s Gender-Motivated Violence Victim Protection Act, enabling those who have survived such violence to file lawsuits, even when the usual time limit for filing has expired.
