As a gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia and a deep-rooted love for Pokémon, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the sight of the upcoming Pokémon x IAB-Studio Unown capsule! Growing up, I remember collecting every single Pokémon card and playing hours upon end on my Gameboy. The mysterious Symbol Pokémon, Unown, was always a favorite due to its unique design and versatility.
IAB-Studio is returning for the Fall/Winter 2024 season with a fresh partnership, joining forces with Pokémon to create a three-piece collection spotlighting the enigmatic Unown. Originating from the Johto region during Generation II, Unown, also known as the “Symbol Pokémon,” boasts 28 unique forms. Each of these forms is characterized by an eye and appendages shaped like letters from the English alphabet, along with a question mark and exclamation point, additions that were introduced in Generation III.
The enigmatic Pokémon is incorporated into each item of the capsule collection, beginning with the grey hoodie adorned with Unown symbols spelling out “IAB Studio” on both the front and back. The white t-shirt, meanwhile, bears Unown symbols that read “Pokémon x IAB Studio, to be continued,” suggesting further collaborations between these two entities. At the rear of this t-shirt is a larger “IAB Studio” text written in English. Lastly, an Unown keychain with the initials “IAB” has been created to complete the collection.
If you’re a fan looking forward to the Pokémon x IAB-Studio Unown collection, mark your calendars! It will be available exclusively on WORKSOUT starting November 4. The keychain is priced at approximately $16 USD (₩22,000 KRW), while the tee and hoodie are priced at around $36 USD (₩50,000 KRW) and $60 USD (₩83,000 KRW) respectively.
