As a lifestyle expert, I must say that Aditya Roy Kapur‘s journey in Bollywood is quite fascinating, filled with both triumph and tribulation. His charm and talent were evident from his debut, but it was Aashiqui 2 that truly catapulted him into the limelight. However, his humility and humor are what really set him apart.
Aditya Roy Kapur first appeared on screen in 2009 alongside Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn in London Dreams, but it was his role in Aashiqui 2 with Shraddha Kapoor in 2013 that truly established him as a heartthrob in Bollywood. The following year, he acted opposite Parineeti Chopra in Daawat-e-Ishq. During an interview, filmmaker Karan Johar asked him about the acting skills of these two actresses. Instead of answering directly, Aditya Roy Kapur subtly avoided the question and humorously remarked that neither of them were particularly talented.
In one episode from Koffee With Karan Season 6, Aditya Roy Kapur was seated alongside Sidharth Malhotra. During their lively and amusing rapid-fire segment, host Karan Johar posed a question to the Ok Jaanu actor: “Who do you consider more talented between Shraddha (Kapoor) and Parineeti (Chopra)?” In response, he made a gesture and simply said ‘neither,’ implying that neither of the actresses lack talent.
The director of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani emphasized his point by asking, “Don’t you think they lack talent?” Adi playfully responded, “Oh yes, no talent at all,” causing Sidharth Malhotra to burst out laughing. Despite the adoration he receives from countless fans worldwide, there was a period in Aditya’s career that left him feeling exposed and vulnerable.
During his discussion on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s talk show What Women Want, Kapur opened up about a challenging phase in his career when his films weren’t performing well financially at the box office. The actor from The Night Manager admitted, “I’ve had some vulnerable moments, such as movies failing or periods without work. A few of my films didn’t succeed, and I wasn’t pleased with the opportunities that came my way during those times because I was vulnerable then.” He went on to say that it was a tough period for him where he didn’t find anything appealing and had a break from work for some time.
Right now, Aditya Roy Kapur is busy shooting for the film “Metro In Dino” directed by Anurag Basu. He’s joined by Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkana Sensharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and others on set.
