As a long-time Harry Potter enthusiast who grew up with the books and movies, the release of the Fantastic Beasts trilogy was like a magical reunion for me! I remember devouring J.K. Rowling’s screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, eagerly anticipating its adaptation on the big screen.
How about giving the Fantastic Beasts trilogy another watch? Peacock is offering a chance to see all three movies from the Harry Potter prequel series.
2016’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” written by J.K. Rowling (her debut screenplay) and directed by David Yates (the director of the last four “Potter” films), takes its title from the Hogwarts textbook on magical creatures penned by Newt Scamander, a renowned magical zoologist. An interesting tidbit: Newt’s grandson, Rolf, married Luna Lovegood, but it’s unknown if they managed to find evidence of Crumple-Horned Snorkacks.
Where can you stream the Fantastic Beasts movies?
Enjoy the magical adventures of “Fantastic Beasts and How to Locate Them”, “Crimes of Grindelwald”, and “The Secrets of Dumbledore” now streaming on Peacock! J.K. Rowling penned the first two films independently, but collaborated with longtime “Potter” screenwriter Steve Kloves for the third. All three films were directed by David Yates.
Peacock provides two monthly subscription options: The Premium plan costs $7.99 per month and includes ads, while the Premium Plus plan costs $13.99 per month without ads and offers download access for select titles. If you’re a student, you can take advantage of the Premium plan at a special discounted rate of only $1.99 per month for an entire year!

Eddie Redmayne Reveals He Had to Go to the Magical School for the Making of the First Fantastic Beasts Film
A recap of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy
In 1926, the initial installment of the enchanting series finds Newt, portrayed by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, arriving in New York City with a mission to free a Thunderbird. As fate would have it, his plans unravel, and the bumbling zoologist of magical creatures gets tangled up with MACUSA (the Magical Congress of the United States of America). To defend himself, he forms an alliance with Auror Tina Goldstein, played by Katherine Waterston; her psychic sister, Queenie; a cheerful non-magical baker, Jacob Kowalski, portrayed by Dan Fogler.
During their journey, Newt and his companions encounter Credence Barebone, a powerful magic user known as an Obscurus, who has been forced to hide his abilities. When they meet, he is in turmoil as his powers erupt violently from him. They also come across Gellert Grindelwald, the infamous dark wizard wanted worldwide. In the first movie, Grindelwald is captured, but in no time at all, he manages to break free during the opening scenes of the second film – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. It’s only fitting that he escapes since he possesses the Elder Wand, one of the incredibly powerful Deathly Hallows said to be created by Death himself.
The struggle to thwart the aspiring tyrant, who aims to dominate Muggles, gains momentum in the story of Crimes, where we meet a youthful Albus Dumbledore (portrayed by Jude Law). Wise beyond his years and deeply compassionate towards the struggles of Muggles, this Hogwarts professor is unable to take immediate action against the forces of darkness. This is due to an old magical agreement he made with Grindelwald, a bond forged in their youth, when they shared dreams and planned their futures together in Godric’s Hollow.
This challenge paves the way for “The Secrets of Dumbledore.” Yet, devoted Potter fans are well aware that Albus eventually manages to breach the contract since one of his most notable achievements in the Wizarding World is his victory over Grindelwald (now portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen, former star of Hannibal).
For now, he finds himself depending on his sibling, Aberforth (Richard Coyle), who is a bartender; Newt, Tina, Theseus (Callum Turner), Newt’s assistant Bunty (Victoria Yeates); Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam), a French wizard; and Eulalie Hicks (Jessica Williams), a teacher at Ilvermorny, the American school of magic. Queenie, on the other hand, has allied herself with Grindelwald, whose close associates include Vinda Rosier (Poppy Corby-Tuech), Helmut (Aleksandr Kuznetsov), and it is revealed that Credence is a hidden member of the Dumbledore family.
